Grocery Outlet Valley Springs is my first choice for all my shopping needs. When i want something specific, I’ll check the other stores. If you’re lucky you can find really good deals, like the lamb leg for $2.97/lbs. But definitely cheap but with branding items, and good quality.
I do enjoy the prices and variety of items at this Grocery Outlet store.
Three stars only because a bag of small apples, which I purchased, were…odd.
From now on, I will observe:
1) Does every apple appear a clone to each other.
2) When set in a bowl on the counter, do the apples ripen/ rot as they should.
3) Does the apple rot, as it should when left out, cut in half.
4) Are there any seeds inside the apple as a ” normal” apple has. These did not.
I got suspicious, so I left the entire batch out on my counter.
The cut one, after 1.5 weeks, did not deteriorate. Slight browning did happen, yet, not as a tree grown apple would.
The rest of the group, with skin on, I left on the counter on a plate. After 7 weeks, they all were just as they were when I bought them. ( hmmmmm).
Early on, I did try one.
No flavor to speak of yet the waxed skin had a nice scent as they all did to the very end before I checked then in the waste can. ( I felt my animals do not need these, whatever they are’s.)
Will I shop there again? Probably, just perhaps not in the produce section.
Not an ideal place to shop. Petty grievances were brought to my attention, of which I kindly obliged and surrendered to; only to be met with an abhorrently rude, bulldog looking man, seeming absolutely thrilled that he had the opportunity to inconvenience a shopper with good dollar. I witnessed a previous Facebook post about gate keeping access to the store from “out of towners”. I am a resident of over twenty years in Calaveras, and am chalking the experience up to superfluous judgement.
I drove to Jackson instead, where the selection was greater and staff genuinely kind. Their store is more deserving of my money, always, and I am saddened my first experience at the valley springs location will be my last.
My favorite thing about Grocery Outlet is the fact that it is so clean. Also I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dog in the store. That makes me happy!
No one should have to pay for grocery bags but that’s what we get for living in this corrupt state! It’s not the employees problem!
Came in for cat food. None available due to not restocked yet. But Christian was the best !!
So nice and helped me double check the aisle.
Very good service!!!😉
