They ask to verify miles by mail or fax because they know those are two least used methods of communication by people and it will take longer, thus billing you a bit more money. over millions of people this results in a considerable profit to GEICO and thus should be sued by a class action lawsuit
Enormous waste of time. My daughter started an application to insure her car online. We just received a request for additional information. AND. The request for insurance has been cancelled because additional information requested has not been received. That would be OK, EXCEPT.
Both letters were mailed from GEICO the same day and obviously received by us together.
I had a similar experience couple of years ago. All the time and $$$ they waste running adds, FIX your underwriting and back office workflow.
My experience with this car insurance company has been deeply disappointing. The representatives I interacted with were rude, condescending, and judgmental. During a recent accident claim, I felt railroaded and was not given a fair opportunity to present my side of the story. Their approach was more accusatory than supportive, treating me as if I were a criminal and seemingly attempting to make me self-incriminate.
One representative in particular, Jared, was especially rude. He taunted me, refused to honor my request to cease and desist, and even laughed at me. Despite my request to have all communications in writing, he continued to call me multiple times, further aggravating the situation.
Watch out for GEICO… I think they are loosing money and taking it out on customers. I don’t need there help anymore but still want to explain my situation. They left me stranded in the desert with my dog. Thankfully a boarder patrol helped us with food and water. But still had a battle with the heat. My dog is 12 years old and it is torture to watch him suffer. Claim made on Oct 3rd and still no contact from GEICO. If they are trying then they need help with the system.

Denied my claim and made me jump thru hoops of fire while dodging tigers to get my claim paid out over a mere 3k. I have since reported them to the BBB, FTC, Media, Social Media outlets, Consumer advocacy groups and will be filing a lawsuit on Monday. I supplied them exact evidence of the incident at 12:45a my onboard computer sent a loss of tire pressure. I was covered from 12:01a yet they tried to say I purchased my insurance in another state. Simply grasping at straws to get out of paying claims in this economy. They will be paying up I have concrete evidence of time of collision with snow drift, & witnesses to back up the time of collision that I was covered. Despite all this evidence they had me do some stupid Zoom meeting w them and they still denied my claim. Don’t ever do business with GEICO they are the worst. Now insured through USAA, highly recommended, or progressive, just don’t go through Geico you may save a few bucks but when it comes time to pay up for the claim they find any way out they can. Detestable.
