  1. I just gave birth here 2 days ago and needed to write this down before I forgot because this place deserves some serious recognition! I worked with OCWMG Midwives my entire pregnancy which was already a very positive experience this place was just the cherry on top. The facility itself is absolutely beautiful from the huge birthing suites to free Valet Parking on arrival. It felt very quick and easy to check in especially since I was deep in labor at this point. Once we got into our room we met our L&D Nurse Jessica Hume who was absolutely top tier! She made our experience so positive just with her huge smile and calming demeanor. On top of that she was super respectful of my birth preferences and I never once felt like I got push back from any of the staff. I ended up delivering the baby pretty quickly upon arrival so I didn’t have the opportunity to take advantage of some of the labor coping tools like the bath but was offered them as options if and when needed. After baby was born the night staff was so kind about lining my vital checks up with our feeding schedule so I was actually able to sleep in between feeds. Food was actually very good for a hospital and it was awesome having a celebratory meal just hours after giving birth. Luckily because of baby’s arrival time and no complications we were able to go home after 24 hrs. I will 100% be coming back here for future deliveries.

  2. Wonderful experience for my wife and I. The midwife team is amazing, all the nurses are the best, nutrition team and food is 5 star, and I’m sure many other great staff behind the scenes. The birthing suites and postpartum rooms are fantastic. I definitely agree with its nickname “Hotel Hoag” for all the best reasons.

  3. My wife and I had our first child here last month. The experience with the midwives was great throughout the process. All of them are knowledgeable, kind, empathetic and great. The suites were roomy and exceeded expectations tremendously. However, during our experience during delivery, I was let down. The nurses try to give you as much medications as possible leading up to the delivery. The craziest part about our experience was after the birth. The anesthesiologist wanted to give my wife FENTANYL post-delivery which she declined. I will always remember him asking and being in shock. I wouldn’t recommend Hoag Irvine to anyone, but the midwives were great.

  4. Had a great experience here. The room for labor and delivery was very large and modern just like pictured on the website. I got to stay in there for a few hours after delivery, then moved upstairs to a smaller recovery room. It barely had enough space for my husband to sleep but thankfully got a hotel room across the street. Fantastic and attentive nursing staff who fed and cared and swaddled my baby especially as I was pretty weak post recovery. Also they have tea service and a special meal with salmon and a cake and sparkling cider.

  5. The nursing service here is really bad. My pain medications were consistently delayed and I had to ask multiple times, because I was in severe pain. The charge nurse was very rude and unprofessional. Instead of listening and implanting an improved suggestions for delayed medication nothing in their process with a corrective action, I was met with a domineering attitude to leave the hospital. My doctor recommended that I stay for an extra day due to the severe reported pain, but the charge nurse was adamant and complicated the discharge process nor feel any empathy for my severe pain from delayed medications.
