This is a new location in Gulf Shore that took over Hazel’s Nook. We went in for breakfast and had such a great experience. The food was wonderful and thw service was top notch and let me tell you I accidentally put the service to the test.
You see just as our food had arrived and was placed, I reached to help my daughter with her plate and ended up spilling my full Dr. Pepper all over the place! As I tried to quickly reach the cup I ended up tossing it in my 4yr old daughters direction covering her in a huge Dr. Pepper and ice wave!
I was mortified but all I could do was laugh out if pure embarrassment!
Within seconds I had two waiters over helping me clean up the mess and we’re so sweet about the whole situation. They could have been rude and terrible being the place was packed and they were super busy, yet instead they showed kindness, helpfulness and smiles as they managed to clean us all up and get us back right.
They will never know how much that meant to me and how they showed my daughter how to correctly handle accidents, even though it was my own!
We will most definitely be back and next time I’ll be asking for a kids cup with a lid for a just in case 😀
We went there twice this trip and I had to get the banana stuffed French toast both times, it was delicious with a little cinnamon and nuts in the fantastic sauce. It was presented better than this I just dig in before I think about taking a photo.
Duck’s Diner rocks! The duck dishes are delicious, the vibe is cozy, and the staff are super friendly. Definitely check it out if you’re in the mood for tasty food and a laid-back atmosphere!
Went to eat here before we headed back to Atlanta and the service was amazing as well as the food. I ordered French toast, bacon, grits, and scrambled cheese eggs. I gave it four stars for the food, because my cheese was not melted on my eggs. Oh yeah the sweet tea was good! My husband ordered the omelette and he was very satisfied he said it was the best omelette that he’s had in a long time. Place was very clean as well.
A must stop for breakfast in OBA, recommend getting there early. Excellent service combined with Mimosas made us smile. Breakfast menu full of great choices.
