First letās make clear that Dr Chen is a FANTASTIC doctor! I canāt however give a good review because some of his staff is absolutely AWFUL! In particular the blond lady that sits at the front deskā¦sheās the rudest person Iāve come across in a long time. She sits at that front desk but is definitely not suited for it because she has a habit of talking down to people rather than helping. Every question asked seems like a chore to answer and sheās usually a step away from an eye roll when answering.
I am compelled to share my extremely disappointing experience with Dr. Harry Chen. In my opinion, he is the worst doctor Iāve ever encountered, and I urge others to think twice before seeking his services.
During our appointment, Dr. Chenās unprofessional behavior was evident from the start. Not only did he fail to listen to our concerns, but he also displayed a complete lack of respect and empathy towards us as patients. His attitude towards us was nothing short of appalling.
To make matters worse, Dr. Chen exhibited inappropriate anger towards us during our visit. He not only rushed through the examination but also walked out of the patient room without addressing our questions or providing any adequate explanations. It was clear that he had little regard for our well-being or the importance of effective communication in a doctor-patient relationship.
I expected a level of professionalism and basic courtesy from a medical professional, especially when seeking answers to important health-related questions. Sadly, Dr. Chenās behavior fell far below these expectations. His lack of patience, dismissive attitude, and failure to address our concerns properly left us feeling disrespected and disregarded.
It is crucial for patients to feel heard, respected, and cared for by their healthcare providers. Regrettably, Dr. Harry Chen failed to deliver on any of these fundamental aspects. I strongly caution anyone considering his services to seek alternative options that prioritize patient care and respect.
In my experience, Dr. Chenās unresponsiveness, inappropriate anger, and lack of professionalism make him an unfit choice for medical assistance. It is essential to find a doctor who values patient well-being and demonstrates the utmost professionalism in their practice.
If I can, I would give 0 stars. Harry Chen is worst doctor I have ever experienced. He is careless, rude, disrespect, greedy person who doesnāt have passion and sympathy for his patients.
First experience, I took my mother for annual exam. The blood work didnāt look good, so we follow up with more exam and works. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed stage 4 cancer by Harry Chen. At this time, Dr Chen had already known us every well and well aware of her condition. While we were waiting for our appointment at Cancer Research Center, we still need Dr Chen to fill out the paperwork. My mother was very ill and wouldnāt make it to the office. I told him I can go to the office pick up the paperwork and pay. He told me no, he has to see her and fill out the form in front of her. I explained to him about my motherās condition and the form he filled out was just basic information that he was already known. he refused to do it without me taking my sick mother to his office, so I did it. When we went to the office, he didnāt do any exam but filled out the paperwork in his office because there is nothing, he can do for my motherās sickness anymore. I was extremely unhappy that my ill mother has to wait in the office for a hour for him to charge me the office visit rather than just paperwork filling fee.
Second experience was with my father. During my fatherās annual exam. My father expressed that he had short breath and possible heart attack few months ago. For pre-caution, I asked few more questions and express my concern, maybe extra lab/exam. Dr Chen kept telling me and my dad that he was ok; he was overthinking; heās healthy and didnāt need to do extra exam. At one point, Dr Chen asked me: āyou work right? you are paying the tax. His Medi-Cal is coming from your paycheck. You are paying and these are expensive. He is fine. He doesnāt need to worry too much. ā I insisted. Finally, he said he would referral us to cardiology.
We went to see the cardiologist right after. In result, my father had heart attack. That was not his feeling. He had one! When cardiologist asked if the doctor who referred us did EMG test. I said no. Cardiologist sent us back and request for initial EMG result. Dr Chen refused to do it and said my dad doesnāt need it. He was fine. I told him Cardiologist asked and just do it. I insisted and he did it. After EMG test, he didnāt even come out his office and tell us the results. I have to ask the nurse to ask him. He said the result was ok. When I went to cardiology appointment, cardiologist said fatherās EMG result were not ok. my father has been treated by cardiologist and taking medicine since.
I should sue Dr Chen for malpractice. He is lucky I am not that type of person and didnāt go after him. Stay away from him!
Dr Chen has been a long time physician to my family. For years he has been an amazing Doctor to my family and had no complaints with his medical care. Within the past four years he has changed; personality, demeanor, attitude and medical care. I have been disappointed with him medical professional take with his parents. I have recommended him to many people and I am honestly embarrassed when I hear people say how can you allow that man treat your family. Sad to say he needs to either stay home if he is having a bad day and not judge his patient from past experience with his in counters with others. Itās been five years over do that I take my family and parents to a different health care provider. I feel bad to write this review but if he does not see his rating he may never change.
His employees are amazing by the way. They are caring about the patients, very professional and understanding.
Dr. Chen and his staff at his new location (his own office) are beyond good, they are GREAT! So kind, caring and attentive to my medical care. I am a new patient and I love this office, they greet me with a smile and when I walk out Dr. Chen takes care of me and the girls at the front desk actually take the time to say good bye, with a smile. I am beyond happy with Dr. Chen and how I am treated there. I also want to mention how quick I get in to see the Dr.
