We had a great experience using the Doulas of Orange County. Our Doula was Liz and we absolutely loved her. Having our first baby, Liz was so knowledgeable and supportive throughout our parenting journey. She took on whatever she could and really allowed our day to day to be manageable because of her extra help. I left our experience more educated and comfortable with having a newborn and would recommend their services to anyone!
I gave birth back in July 2017 and was so THANKFUL to have Allison Smith as our doula! I can’t say enough on how she was such a vital part of our labor. It is our first child and I had a lot of anxiety about the labor itself. I also wanted to have a natural labor without any medication at all.
Allison met with us months prior to the labor and informed us of our options and went over the steps she would take during the labor. The night that I went into labor I was in constant communication with her until she arrived at our home early in the morning (she was not there sooner because I had no idea I was even in labor). Right when she got there she immediately stepped in and helped with the pain management during contractions. When we arrived at the hospital, having her was even more important. She helped manage the pain as it did intensify, constantly made sure I was hydrated, and more importantly, she made she everything we had discussed for our labor was followed through.
During a very intense moment where I really wanted to give up and broke down highly considering the epidural, she talked it out with me long enough that I didn’t need it anymore! I gave birth to my beautiful daughter exactly how I wanted. I couldn’t stop telling Allison how much I LOVE HER! She even helped take photos and videos of the labor that I am able to watch and remember.
Allison was amazing and we’re so thankful to have found the OC Doulas and have Allison by our side during it all! We hope she will be a part of baby #2 in the future!
