  1. The staff was great and kind. Although to have paid a reasonable amount for an upgrade, I wished I had stayed with the original room I got. The water temperature was inverted, the ceiling light in the bathroom was flickering, and the fossil that was giving water to the tub, was a bit loose, as well as the shower head’s water pressurebeing off. Other than that, the corner of the furniture housing the fridge seemed to be either chipped or chewed. I would say that’s minor to the overall experience but more so to point out things that should be fixed before the next guest arrives. This is in no way bashing the hotel, but pointing things out that they should check out on their next inspections of rooms on each floor

  2. We’ve just arrived here, and I already love it. This hotel is perfect for everyone and anyone. Citizens, Active and Retired Militants, Government Officials, etc. You name it, someone of said occupation will be staying here. Speaking of which, the people here are very professional and polite, whether they’re staff or people who are staying here. This hotel is pretty luxurious and very pristine, good for any and every occasion (vacation, business, deployment, etc), and just an over-all romantic location. 10/10, highly recommend this hotel. I will 100% be returning to this exact hotel location in the future.

  3. This location has suffered a drastic downturn over the last decade or so. While the staff remain lovely and the location right by the trolley line is amazing, the hotel itself is falling apart with a good example being the rooms.

During my most recent visit only two sets of plugs worked – the ones in the bathroom and the ones on the ground near the floor. The ones near the bed? No luck. The ones at the desktop? Any plug you might put in would wiggled or just hang there freely and again, nada. Down by the pool, the fire features likewise were broken according to staff.

Really a sad fall for an otherwise great location….

  4. Stayed here for a soccer tournament and everything was excellent from the moment we checked in and were greeted with fresh warm cookies. The room was immaculate and the service was stellar. I received several text messages as a follow up during my stay and I truly appreciated it. The kids truly enjoyed the indoor pool. My husband got his workout in at the gym which was also very clean. I had an Amazon package delivered and they were very good about notifying me that my package was received and at the front desk. They hosted a summer BBQ and the food was delicious. The hotel is very up to date with technology and allows for digital keys which made our stay that much easier. The receptionists were very welcoming. Great place to stay with and without kids. The location is perfect if you’re going to Sea World or Old Town.

  5. BEWARE!!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!

Very disappointed with this Double Tree hotel. The staff, security, and managers are liars! They said there was free parking on the street but didn’t mention all the encampments and the homeless people walking around the cars and sidewalks. Becareful coming back to the hotel after 9pm. Felt very unsafe! The hotel needs to be updated. The rooms are very old, not enough plugs, smelly and dirty rugs and the toilets did not flush. Not to mention the moldy and musty smell within the rooms, towels, and sheets. There are leaks (unknown liquid) seeping from the ac units, which caused puddles on the rugs. Clothes and sheets got soaked and wet. Beds felt dampy and uncomfortable. They placed a huge, red blower in my room to fan out the water (from the AC unit) for half the day. We were not present when they removed it due to prior engagements. However, upon return, the smell was unbearable! The moisture in the air, rooms and the hallway were overwhelming. Very moldy smell. We were coughing and gagging. We asked to be immediately moved from our connecting (2)rooms. The front desk moved us from one room to another smelly room. Then, we were moved again to another floor at 4 am. with a senior and a minor! Who are not feeling well till this day, due to the unsanitary conditions. They are both seeking medical attention at this time. Stay away from the 5th floor! It stinks. Possibly hazardous to your health. We filed a claim, and now the staff is dodging my calls! Staff was not helpful at all and lied to cover up the disaster. The furniture in the rooms were old and overused. In both my room and my connecting room, as well. The balcony doors are broken, and they come off the hinges! Cannot open or close. Had maintenance upstairs several times to fix. Bathroom sinks were clogged and smelt like sewer. Beware of this institution. It is shady. If you expect to relax in the jacuzzi over there, don’t expect too much because the bubbles don’t work! You are just sitting in warm water (if you know what I mean). No filters were working full blast. If I can rate this hotel a 0, I would because they don’t even deserve a 1. We are very frustrated and disappointed with this hotel and will NEVER, EVER, stay there again!!!
