I stay in Hilton properties across the country 150-200 nights per year.
There is nothing really special about this property. I stayed for one night. I was assigned a room in the older section of the hotel.
The room smelled musty and moldy. I found an air freshener hidden beside the air conditioning unit that made no difference as to how the room smelled.
It had no exterior windows.
When I took a shower I found baby roaches in the bath tub. It appeared that they were coming in through the drain.
The room was dated and in dire need of an update.
There is a newer tower section to the hotel. I would highly suggest requesting a room in that part of the hotel though I have not been in one of them.
The service was good and attentive. The kitchen at the hotel bar and restaurant was closed at the time I was there. Bartender was friendly and had a decent selection of bottled and canned beer. No taps at the bar.
This property has what appears to be an indoor outdoor pool located in the old section of the hotel but no Spa/Hot tub.
I would stay at this location again if I was assigned a room in the newer section on a high floor away from the elevator but the rating takes a hit due to the older section of the hotel being in the condition it is in and my expierience. I have stayed in much nicer Doubletree properties.
Spacious rooms, decent price. Things are a bit beat up, and could use some fixing and updating. But staff is very kind, fast and accommodating. Pool is nice, super warm! Beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The street is a little noisy but definitely one of the nicest places to stay in the area. We’ll definitely stay again.
This hotel is located directly on the river and offers several rooms with a view. It is a quick drive to downtown Decatur and easy access to 565 if you are heading to Huntsville. Additionally, they are great to work with for events. Adrianna, the person in charge of event booking, is extremely helpful, and accommodating. If you’re looking for an event large or small, this should definitely be an option that you consider.
Room was alright, all the plugs that were accessible were loose and my plugs just fell out. Not all the lights worked. Service worker left old filters on the roof that Inwas able to see from my window.
Besides that, stay was fine. I would stay here again.
Everything seemed great on the surface. The bed was comfortable. The pillow was great (soft). The room seemed to be cleaned but at daylight it was evident more could have been done.
The outlet in the lamp on my side of the bed didn’t work which I didn’t realize until morning, which is really sad considering it’s the only potential for charging things near the bed.
The coffee in the lobby was gone by 6:30 and not replenished. I heard another guest asking about it and the girl at the desk didn’t seem to care much.
As gold members, we received a food credit which was useless given the restaurant and Starbucks were closed. Right…no breakfast.
All in all I would say I probably wouldn’t stay here again considering the lack of value.
