I took a teenage church group for a week of worship and play to Gulf Shores. The air conditioning quit working on our bus. The 1st place was too busy. They recommended Doering, a mom and pop place. They were busy, however, very accompanying. They estimated 2+ hours and $200 to fix. It only took less than 1 1/2 hour & $50 less. Sitting in the waiting room I could hear them interact with customers. They truly care about people and want to fix problems, not use a guessing game. They also have tires. Been in business for over 100 years. This is a place this tourist trusted & highly recommends.
So. I don’t normally blast businesses (especially local business), but I paid for my calipers to be replaced by Doering Tire Service & Automotive Repair. However, had to get the same work done this past weekend to find out they never replaced the necessary parts. They only replaced the hose, spindle, and pads. I needed the calipers replaced. I had been driving around with ONE break since the work was ‘done’ by Doering.
You’re messing around with peoples lives! One break for a whole summer? I paid over $850 (for both visits to Doering) to not get anything done. I went back to complain and they’re insistent that the work was done. I showed them pictures of the new ones the other Mecanic replaced vs. the one doering supposedly did. Huge difference.
They were still insistent that the work was done.
ONLY thing replaced by Doering was a hose, spindle, pads, and the piston that goes inside the caliper. Didn’t do what I needed to be done!

Awesome mechanic shop! We were in Orange Beach on vacation for July 4th. Every other shop I called told us they couldn’t get to it because of the holiday. But we told the folks at Doering our situation, and they completed the job in a 24-hour period. They diagnosed an issue with our toyota highlander, determined the wheel bearings needed to be replaced, and completed the job all before everyone shut down for July 4th.
They also checked my in-laws’ car battery because it was having some issues. They even listened to the symptoms and gave us recommendations on what to try next.

Thought there was an issue with my struts. They checked them and double-checked. All was good. I may have been imagining an issue. They were so polite I don’t think I will be going anywhere else in the future. Thanks, y’all were great.
Single lady here. Been using Doering Tires for all my repairs and tires since 1991. I cannot recommend a business high enough. Fair, honest and the staff is pleasant and accommodating.
