  1. Our family had a wonderful time at DeSoto’s Seafood Kitchen! The talented musician created a lovely atmosphere, keeping us entertained while we waited to be seated. đŸŽ¶ Just a heads-up: make sure your whole party is there before you can be seated.

The menu is extensive, offering a variety of catches of the day, prepared in different ways to suit every taste. The servers were attentive and eager to help, ensuring all our needs were met. đŸŸđŸœïž

The dishes were packed with flavor and reasonably priced. Even our little three-year-old enjoyed a plateful of fresh flounder fillet and sat through the entire dinner happily! A delightful experience for the whole family.

  2. Difficult to award 4 Stars overall when Food, Service, and Atmosphere are all 5 star, however, the ONLY issue I have is the bartender didn’t know how to make an Old Fashioned, even after claiming she did. Sprite does NOT go in an Old Fashioned. The service deserves 6 or 7 Stars. The waitress, Ava, was perfect. The hostesses were warm and friendly and the food was good. I wouldn’t object to eating here again, but wouldn’t go out of my way. Overall, it was a good dining experience and close to our Condo. The Sweet Potato side was unbelievably good.

  3. This was a fun little seafood place in Gulf Shores. We arrived around 1pm and it was really busy. Getting seated was a bit chaotic with names being yelled out but we were luckily seated upstairs right away.

We opted for the steamed crab legs and grilled shrimp plate. The 6 grilled shrimp were delicious and nicely seasoned, sitting on a bed of yellow rice. It was served with melted butter, which was not needed. I chose fried okra and hushpuppies as sides. Both were great.

The crab legs were also wonderful. Since they were steamed, the shells were quite soft so you couldn’t crack them. We still managed to open up each leg and enjoy the meat. The side of Mac and cheese was nothing special but no complaints.

Check out this place for some great seafood in a casual environment!

  4. Food was fairly good. My wife was not thrilled with the butter for the shrimp. They serve 2 types of bread and 2 types of butter, the brown bread with the whipped honey spread was my favorite. I had blackened trigger fish which was delicious. We will happily come back next time we are in the area.

  5. Our experience at De Soto Seafood Kitchen was nothing short of spectacular. We indulged in the Caribbean Platter, featuring coconut shrimp, jerk chicken breast, and grilled grouper on a bed of Caribbean rice, topped with mango fruit salsa. My wife couldn’t stop raving about her dish, rating it a perfect 10 out of 10. She paired it with a delightful sweet potato casserole and a refreshing bushwhacker frozen beverage.

While my Creole Platter, showcasing Crawfish ÉtouffĂ©e and shrimp creole with blackened catfish on yellow rice, was near perfection, the Crawfish ÉtouffĂ©e fell slightly short due to its under-seasoned green roux. However, after a bit of improvisation with Tabasco sauce and lemon, along with mixing it with the rice and shrimp creole, the dish transformed into a flawless 10 out of 10.

The attention to detail extended to the beverages, with the club soda being the best I’ve had on the Gulf. Served with crushed ice and fresh lime and lemon, it was a refreshing delight. The hushpuppies were divine, and the sweet potato casserole was a crowd-pleaser. But the real star of the show was the Key Lime Pie, a perfect ending to our vacation.

The manager’s hospitality was the cherry on top of an already delightful experience. Giving us a tour of the restaurant and presenting us with a souvenir utensil added a personal touch that made our visit truly memorable. We left De Soto Seafood Kitchen with hearts and stomachs full, eager to return for another unforgettable dining experience.
