We had a fantastic experience here. The view was amazing, the food and service were as well. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the wine, specials, and oysters. Entree prices were similar to other upscale restaurants with a view others cannot provide. Great job Dauphins. We will return any time we are in Mobile.
Celebrated my wife’s birthday and it was a hit! I cannot say enough about everyone who worked there! Our server even brought my son some binoculars to enjoy the view with, and what a view! If there is a better view in Mobile, I do not know what it is! Everyone devoured their food and it was reasonably priced. Highly recommend!
The food was amazing. Servers are very tentative. Great service and atmosphere. An excellent place for date night or family meet up. The view was amazing. Would recommend to anyone. Will be going back.
Just wanted to say thank you so much for our lunch today 🙂 we came in and had the pleasure of having Dominique as our server and she was amazing!!! Our orders are never easy with dietary restrictions and she was so kind and sweet. She even let us know the chef really helped on one of the dishes and we are truly thankful. Absolutely amazing. We’ve dined at the Dauphin’s a few times before during previous visits to Mobile, AL and always enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately, this recent visit during Memorial Day weekend was a bit of a letdown. While the service was okay, the food left much to be desired.
The main issue was the white fish of the day limon style, which was overcooked ~ extremely dry and hard with a side of overcooked, slimey asparagus. This was quite disappointing, especially since it’s a dish I’ve enjoyed here in the past. However, the rest of the items we ordered were pretty good, maintaining the quality I’ve come to expect. I have to add that portions are above average size so if you’re looking to try dessert, you may want to skip appetizers.
One consistent highlight is the view from the 34th floor, which is simply amazing and adds a wonderful ambiance to the dining experience, especially during sunset. The cocktail with thyme is also great.
Overall, this visit was not as impressive as previous ones, but I hope it was just an off night for the kitchen. We may give it another chance due to the beautiful setting and the generally good food we’ve had in the past. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I’d only be able to give it 3 stars.
