  1. This place is awesome! I was in town from Chicago to visit family and dropped in for a Saturday workout, and had a great time. I drop in to boxes all over the world and this place ranks right at the top. The people were so friendly that five minutes in I already felt like part of the crew. The coach Keith really knows his stuff. As a personal trainer and L1 coach myself I was very impressed with how much coaching he’s able to get in during a short amount of time. To top it off he kept the class super fun!

Killer workout, great coaching and amazing community of members!! I can’t wait to come back!

….pro tip, there’s a great spot for post workout brunch around the corner

  2. Not even 1 star. 0 if I could. I am an experienced crossfit level 2 coach & athlete and am here at flight school going to FXT…this is not well written BUT here we go

I have been very disappointed since I walked through the doors back in April, and my last straw was this past Saturday in an interaction with owner, Keith. I was told, “You are not superhuman, this is not the games. Get that out of your head right now” when I simply wanted to make the workout more challenging … MEANWHILE… there are random KIDS in class, obese people who need TRUE HELP, and BRAND NEW athletes who have never done some of the movements before. Why is there such angry focus on me, an experienced athlete and level 2 coach, when these people need the attention (and appropriate scales WHICH THEY DID NOT GET)? And why is the coach and owner so defensive and closed off to any suggestions, ideas, or critiques?

Furthermore, I have taken the following notes in my time at FXT:

    COACHING
-you do not provide proper scaling and advancing options for athletes. Why are new athletes doing the same amount of bike calories as Rx athletes? There should be scaling options for them!!!!! Many times I have seen newer athletes trying to do the same thing as the advanced, and the workout is not scaled appropriately for them. time caps on workouts are not held (or even mentioned on the whiteboard half the time) and these people end up going far too long past the stimulus.

    – During class coaches are ON THEIR PHONES, SITTING, NOT EVEN WATCHING, or not moving around the class to ensure the safety and correctness of movements. I couldn’t BELIEVE deadlift day when a coach grabbed his phone for the near entirety of the workout, sat on a stack of plates, and did not pay any attention to the workout.

    – most Coaches are NOT FRIENDLY. I went to THREE classes with Coach Stacy before she finally greeted me or even made eye contact with me. This is unacceptable for the CrossFit community and it reflects on your members too, who also are not very friendly or welcoming except a few. It took owner Tracy 3 months to introduce herself to me.

    – classes either go long, are SUPER RUSHED, or there is excessive stalling to meet the hour long class time. whiteboard briefs are BAD. they are too long, movements are demonstrated incorrectly (talking while doing) and no scales or options are demoed. I notice the coaches are unable to speak loud and clear enough over the fans and often turn their back to the group (this shows they show up wthout a full understanding of the workout)

    SAFETY & ORGANIZATION
    – This gym is a MESSY FREE FOR ALL! Especially on Saturdays, anyone and everyone can show up and because they do not have class caps, a proper sign-in system, enough coaches, etc., class is unorganized, movements are not properly taught if at all, and class is unsafe for KIDS AND NEW ATHLETES!

    – you do not track and post who is coaching or who is signing in to class. I always show up with no idea who will be coaching the class or who is going to be in class with me…

    – the gym seems like it has never been and is never cleaned. every time I come in im not sure what im going to leave with.

    PROGRAMMING
    – many of the same movements and styles are programmed. I barely did any barbell cycling or advanced movements in my time here. (but it’s a good thing because im not sure any of the coaches know how to coach it properly). 5 out of the 9 days were partner workouts.
    – inconsistent. are we even on a lifting program? and even if we are the lifting sessions are SO CHALLENGING and the workouts NOT?

I could honestly list 100 more things. FXT is exactly why people quit, exactly why CrossFit gets a bad reputation, why people get hurt. And owners HAVE to be open to feedback and not shut people down the second they have an idea or suggestion. Instead of new equipment, you should pay to ensure all your coaches are properly trained.

  3. I have been a part of this gym for many years. They have hands down the best coaches and most knowledgeable coaches in town. It’s the only CF affiliate in town(at the time of this review) if you need official scoring etc. It’s a competitive gym but Even if you are not competitive you feel at home. They strive for a big family environment and celebrate everyone’s achievements inside and outside of the gym. You CANNOT go wrong with this box!

  4. Spent the past 6 months at CrossFit FTX and absolutely loved every chance I had to workout there. The coaches are amazing, very attentive and knowledgeable. I’ve been to a number of CrossFit gyms and this one by far is the best overall experience I’ve had. I did not feel like the “new guy” or an outsider like some gyms make you feel. Great experience, highly recommend!

  5. I have found the gym I always wanted to belong to. I am only in town for 3 weeks and Tracy and Keith have made me feel so welcome at the gym. They are wonderful owners, and it makes me want to stay and call this place home. I can’t wait to go back tomorrow for another workout. Once you go in, you will not look any further for a gym. They are amazing people and super friendly. You feel right at home like they have known you your entire life.
