  1. Dear Costless ( including all employees),
I used to be homeless. I received food stamps, but I lived at the river. Food doesn’t keep the way it would in a fridge. Trying to budget for food on $200, doesn’t get you very far. I am.not someone who would buy chips, soda or candy. I bought pasta, beans, rice, peanut butter and jelly was the junkiest I got. Money never goes as far as I needed it to.
However, thanks to your store, me and the.11 other people and all of our dogs ate very well, at times.
I came from money, I never imagined myself digging through a dumpster for food. It wasn’t that bad, though. It was as if your people knew this food would go a long way, ( we were not the only ones eating out of your dumpster) and you would bag the food separately from the trash. I honestly want to thank you for that, because it gave a tiny bit of dignity to us, in a world where we would quickly be stripped of that dignity, the moment police showed up and arrested us for pulling food out of the dumpster. I can’t tell you how I would throw together a huge pot of chicken, chili Verde with everything I brought back with me. It fed all of us plus on the river, that time, for two days.
Before I knew about the dumpster, I was sitting there looking at your store. I had not eaten in two days and I didn’t get my stamps for another 2 days. I thought about stealing food. I’m not a thief, but I was that hungry. Instead, I went into the store, smelling of camp fire. I tried to make myself as presentable as possible , before I talked to your manager. I explained my current situation and included the part about thoughts of stealing.
The manager listened to me as if these words were the most important words he heard that day. Then, he told me to go get what I needed. I came back in 2 days to pay for the bread, peanut butter , jelly and water I took. He told me not to worry about it. That he paid my bill. Then, he thanked me for not stealing and for making the right choice. As hard as it was for me to do, it was the right choice.
    So, thank you cost less.
    I have an idea…..
    * You should have a bin or shelf where people can donate food that they just bought from your store. Then, if anyone else wanders in there…..just a thought.

  2. I’ve been a CostLess shopper since 2009 and I can say they always have something good on sale every week. Just have to subscribe to the weekly ad to see sales. Definitely worth it. Saves me and my family a lot of money. Go check them out. The produce is always good and well stocked and something on sale. The meat dept is just as good also with a sale.
