Riley, the Sales Associate we worked with, was great. Since we already knew what we wanted, she was able to get us through the purchase process in under an hour; minus 20 minutes for the test drive.
That said, Carmax missed a number of issues on their 125 “inspection”. The spark plugs weren’t swapped at 60k miles (Volvo) and both front ball joints were very worn with torn boots that should have been replaced prior to sale. Riley and her manager Freddy were outstanding working with us to get that resolved. Excellent sales and office staff but buyer beware on the cars and know their inspection isn’t as good as they make it out to be. Get anything you buy there looked at right away by an independent mechanic.
Nathan B was an amazing associate. He assisted my aunt and I in buying a new jeep, we had no knowledge and had not really found a car until Nathan showed us inventory online and all jeeps I was interested in. He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable, he did push any car on us, it was extremely pleasant to work with him, he made it easy. He is knowledgeable, helpful, and has great customer service and is a great asset for the company.
They say Carmaxx will offer top dollar but they actually offer lower than the lowest. I had other dealers offer me $70k for my vehicle and they offer me $49k🤣 Don’t be ripped off by them! Get several estimates before you settle.
In the beginning it was rough, due to not knowing carmax process. However once we made our appointment our sales rep Renee did amazing ended up leaving with a 2021 Nissan Sentra that I am super happy with!!! Thank you again CarMax!!
My experience with CarMax has been my best experience with a car dealership in my entire life (50 years old). By a long shot! From the sales department to the service department (Chinda & Carina), I was treated like, “The customer is king”. Nothing was high pressure. The numbers we talked about were the actual real numbers I was dealing with when I signed paperwork. Do you know what I’m talking about? I’ve dealt with so many dealerships that make HUGE promises about saving me money and low monthly payments that I could afford, but when I start signing contracts, the numbers are not what we talked about. With CarMax I went through the pre-approval on line, I went through the trade-in online, and when we sat down with paperwork, the numbers stayed the same. AND … CarMax sold me a car in 2 hours! We’ve been dealing with a certain dealership for literally 20 years and it always takes 5-6 hours to buy a car. When I was done at CarMax I thought they were pulling my leg. I thought we were just getting started and we were just getting finished. I have no idea if every location is as good as the Fresno location, but the Fresno location is an 11/10, recommend, I will buy my next car from them.
