  1. I was seen on 5/6/24 as a new patient on a referral from my primary care physician because I have been experiencing severe lower back pain. Upon arrival I noticed that the doctors office stays fairly full. All my registration papery was done online for an 8:45 appointment I was called back to the room at 9:30. No heart rate taken, no blood pressure taken and no weight taken. The amount of patients in and out and only seeing doctor Salazar it seems as if he really didnā€™t spend much time with the patients which was a concern for me as I have multiple health issues and a team of doctors at Stanford. As I waited in the room I was so optimistic that I was going to be on the road to pain relief and better mobility to enjoy my family and outdoor activities. Dr. Salazar entered the room introduced himself and pulled up my pain chart in which I had circled my areas of pain. He then asked what kind of work do I do, I explained Iā€™m disabled and worked up until 2015 due to a brain injury in 2013. He asked while working what kind of work did I do and I began to explain to him the work I did involved lots of heavy lifting. I then started to give him information about my back telling him that while employed I had an incident where I had a spasm in my back while at work was taken to hospital by ambulance given muscle relaxer by IV and back to work in 2 days. I had X-ray and all necessary treatments to determine if there was anything else wrong and there was not. At this point doctor Salazar stopped me and said he canā€™t see me until I bring a release of my settlement which I tried to explain to him there was no case, no settlement, no fury treatment needed because I had a muscle spasm. He no longer wanted to hear about my medical as it pertains to my visit all he said was if heā€™s supposed to be paid by workers comp and heā€™s paid by my insurance at this point he said he canā€™t see me until I bring a workerā€™s comp release. I have no release there was no case and I was referred by my primary care and this was not a comp claim. As I sat there trying to explain he shut the computer down closed my file and said follow me, Iā€™m still sitting there in shock because Iā€™ve never been treated this way he then turned around and said louder follow me and walked me out! Iā€™m still in disbelief and when I got to my car I called my husband and cried! He was not at all interested in my medical history or anything else. It was clear he wanted nothing to do with me other than getting me in and out. He doesnā€™t have time for a new patient as he doesnā€™t have the time to spend with the patient. At the front desk I explained to the receptionist Iā€™m not sure what just happened and I immediately contacted my primary care physician. I prayed about what happened to me yesterday and was going to just move on but I received an email survey from doctor Salazarā€™s office this morning. I decided to open it and complete the survey which was questions and answers only ( agree, disagree, etc) once I completed the survey I was hoping to find an area to elaborate on my experience but there was not! So thatā€™s why I decided to leave a review. If you are a new patient with multiple health issues like myself, I have heart issues, blood pressure issues as well as autonomic issues that I will deal with for the rest of my life from a brain injury. With that being said my health care team has to have time to properly communicate with me as well as time to communicate with my physicians at Stanford as this is critical in my healthcare and doctor Salazar clearly doesnā€™t have the time for that. I am thankful for this platform to put my experience out there as I have learned that I have to be proactive in my healthcare.

  2. I was sent to Dr Salazarā€™s office about 4 years ago, I broke my back in three places, herniated discs and other problems, he was very, mellow kind.I started seeing Dr. Johncox fell in love with his laugh then found out he did play Santa sometimes at my Church and his, he is loving, takes his time laugh contagious , he is loving kind hearted and compassionate but also very straight forward and professional, if you want a great office with an amazing staff that treat you with love and make you feel like a human being and not a number come here, donā€™t forget to say hello to the sweet staff there also and pick up some candy on the way out!

  3. My name is m.j iqbal, i was a pt.with dr. Salazar for several years. He cares for his patients. He tries his best to see that his patients are pain free by prescribing the right meds, injections and physical therapy. His staff is very courteous and helpful. The only reason i stopped going there is due to insurance problems
    Dr. Salazar is great.

  4. Dr Salazar has been my pain management physician since 1998. Over the years he has treated me I have NO complaints. His has an outstanding staff who are attentive to the patients needs. Dr is always up on the state of the art ways to treat his patients. I highly recommend Dr to my family, friends and anyone who will listen. Often while waiting, which is never long, the patients will talk to each other about the treatments they are receiving. It is wonderful to have a group chat with people who understand and have pain as an issue in their life. To top it off there is always candy on your way out.

  5. I have been a patient of the center starting 1999 when Dr Kalamakarian was the Dr formerly called San Juaquin valley pain management center with PA Mr. . Mr Johncox is excellent with a relaxed great bedside manner he always listens to my level of pain and where it stems from. He is knowledgeable professional and easy to talk to thank you! I have seen him also close to 22 years. Dr Salazar took over and he is a great doctor with a funny relaxing manner and has done many epidural injections that were successful along with monthly pain pump refills. I trust them all 100%. Their entire staff the medical assistants are always friendly and I enjoy seeing them for my monthly visits. The entire office staff is very professional and friendly I would never go anywhere else for my chronic spinal pain treatment.
