I’m the same age as Terry and I had a dune buggy when I was 17 back in the day. (1970’s) I decided it was time to get another dune buggy and I found one over on the coast and went by his shop to see if he would rent me a tow bar. He took down my license and just loaned me one. (no charge) That was my first experience with him. While I know quite a bit about bugs, alas…
things have changed in 40 years and there are a lot more cool things you can do than in the past. Terry has given me invaluable knowledge. For example, I wanted disc breaks and he supplied me with rotors that had a Chevy bolt pattern so I didn’t need adapters for my new wheels I bought. I got so used to DIY through Youtube and kind of lost the personal touch you get from someone local. I feel fortunate to have someone nearby with the knowledge he has, and I’m having a blast fixing up my ride!
They seem to have what you need but parts don’t fit, after you leave they talk behind your back run you down to people you know after dropping $1200 at their business parts are double the price that you can get the same thing from jbugs with no shipping cost, if you need it today they might get something to fit.
I was able to transform a stock crusty 66 bug into a cool little ride in literally one week with the help of Mr Burnett. Very nice folks over there, very knowledgeable.
Terry is awesome. He’s not just trying to take your money. Every time I come to him he helps me any way he can even if he’s not making money on it. As a first time beetle owner, he’s made me feel so at ease. Thank you Burnett’s!!
