We went in because our contractor suggested the store as a good place to see a large range of appliances. Jay Vargas helped us even though we just wandered in, and he’s been exceptionally helpful. We picked a mix of higher end and more moderate stuff with no judgment from Jay. He took his time with us walking through a ton of models of various appliances and then has been super responsive over email throughout the entire process. He’s really knowledgeable. And he’s been very up front and steered us towards other stores when he thought we could get a better deal from them. We appreciate him very much and will always go back to him for appliances.
Unfortunately BSC was helpful until they received our order. At that point, the service level was terrible. We had to chase the representative for information multiple times. There were issues with the delivery, both in terms of what was in scope as well as the quality of the install. We had to resort to hiring a different installer to not only complete installation of items they said they couldn’t do themselves, but also to reinstall a refrigerator/freezer that wasn’t sufficiently set back into its space. All in all there was friction in every step of the process and there was limited effort to address our concerns. They are not the only option for appliances – buyer beware.
They seem to have a good selection and the delivery/install people seem very good. The customer service around in-progress orders is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Promises around what is available quickly are not fulfilled once the order is placed; estimates get revised and revised with no explanation or outreach; emails and calls go unanswered. While I understand supply chain issues and so on, the lack of communication, even “this is the best info we have,” makes the overall experience really bad.
Ordered a dishwasher with them well over a year ago, with the expectation that it would be 10 months until it arrived. Those months elapsed and we were told “we don’t know when it will arrive, but we’ll keep you updated.” Six months later and no one will return our emails about the expectations. Truly terrible customer service so unless you can immediately walk out with the thing you need, I would not recommend them.
Beware! BSC lacks the subject matter expertise when it comes to installation of the premium appliances they sell. For my custom paneled Liebherr refrigerator, the panels were not properly installed or aligned. They stripped the screws leaving me with a freezer that will not close unless i lift the panel. They have sent their “best technicians” to my home 3 times and each time they visit the issues actually get worse. It’s been 8 months.
My Miele dishwasher install was also done incorrectly by BSC. I had to reach out to Miele to get referred to technicians that are properlyTom Papageorge trained.
I have tried working with their customer service team, but I just got lectured that there people are well trained and they’re doing their best. I tried reaching out to the CEO Tom Papageorge and after promising, he would look into this and follow up, he has yet to follow up with me.
