This reminds me of a modern take of a 50âs diner. The old school looking grandmaâs silverware was a nice touch. The place is neat and clean. The restroom was clean; if you know you know.
The waffle was not overcooked, light and had a sweet taste. I ate it without syrup. The waffle is a little pricey for what you get. So if youâre hungry, order something to compliment it.
The big bad skillet is great for meat lovers. FYI- if you love your potatoes crispy, how the skillet is cooked makes the potatoes soft.
The steak and eggs- the steak is a 6 ounce ribeye. It was seasoned well but it is not a high quality cut of meat as one would expect looking at the price. The price is a good reflection and the entree is reasonably priced. The grits were buttery; the biscuit was flaky but is nostalgic because it reminds me of the gas station biscuits we would get on a road trip. The breakfast potatoes alone, were seasoned well and crispy. They were great.
The coffee is run of the mill; but the aesthetic of the restaurant and the old school looking coffee mug made me feel like I was visiting the old dinerâs grand (kid) diner.
The service was not that attentive. They still were pretty good but we ran out drinks and I was not given any refills on my coffee. But the server brought the jam and checked up on us prior to the drinks running dry. In the words of Boyz II Men, âletâs donât wait til the water runs dry.â
This is a great brunch spot I am looking forward to trying again.
This was our second trip here, and we have ordered takeout one other time (I donât recommend that). It was crowded both times so we sat at the bar, had the same server as last time. She is very friendly and efficient. We had the same opinion as the first trip- some items are WOW delicious! But some things, imo as a non-chef foodie who loves to cook, could really be tweaked just a little and be so much better. The gravies are outstanding! The tomato and sausage. Grits last time were really good. Fresh oj and the cold brew are good. Not sure why the hype on the skillet potatoes, thereâs literally nothing special about how they are cooked or seasoned (I immediately sprinkled Tabasco on mine). Everything inside the Creole omelet was very tasty; itâs just not functional as an omelet⊠everything is large and itâs not tied together with the cheese. More like roll the egg over and cut bites of egg to eat with whole shrimp or bites of sausage. The tomato gravy should def go across the whole thing (last time hubby got the biscuit crumble, and it needed more gravy too). Think I had the redneck Benny the first time, it was very good! And we tried a pancake the first trip, they make a pretty good pancake! The biscuits are ok, nothing phenomenal about them except the gravy on them which is, again, really amazing!
Oh! Just found pics of the first trip, the Benny and the biscuit crumble! Adding pics, the poached eggs were literally perfect.
BBB is warm and welcoming with plenty of booths and high tables. When you walk in youâre immediately met by a hostess. There was one person in the line before me, and so I waited less than a minute.
This visit I had take out and ordered a chicken burrito with frees. The food was piping hot and ready to eat when I got to my office 10 minutes down the road. They included to go plastic-ware and plenty of napkins. The food was delicious and not over fried. I also got a mocha latte which I thought was very good. It wasnât too sweat with just enough caffeine to kick start the day, but then again, when is too much caffeine ever really a problem?!
If youâre into swag, they have caps, shirts, and sweaters. I got a shirt for 20+ tax. The clothing is really good quality cotton and looks like it can take a few laundry cycles; time will tell.
I think the thing I appreciated the most was the hometown feeling. While I was waiting for my food to come out, an elderly couple showed up for breakfast. They nodded off the hostess, and then went outside to have a seat. Within a couple of minutes, the hostess was at their table and chatting them up like they were old friends. This kind of service goes beyond customer service and I think is a representation of the kind of friendships you can build with the staff at the restaurant.
If youâre looking for Wi-Fi connectivity, this place has it. From the looks of it it looks like they have fiber Internet service and they donât rate limit you. You could probably get a little bit of work done if you wanted to break out your laptop.
Best service we experienced in the USA. Superb! We really felt well taken care of for our breakfast visit.
Amazing food and my kids love the t shirts I brought when I was there.
I ordered the breakfast wrap and a brĂ»lĂ©e grapefruit. The breakfast wrap did not have any meat maybe 1/4 of a sausage patty. It did however have a lot of egg and some vegetables and cheese It was okay but certainly not what I expected. The brĂ»lĂ©e grapefruit was cold in the bottom was cut out of it. It must have been in a cold prep and they just put a torch to it this morning at the brulee. Nevertheless it was not good. Yet another breakfast place, that canât get breakfast right.
