  1. I want to start by commending Matt, the manager, for his professionalism and helpfulness throughout my recent experiences. He handled my membership issue with care and courtesy, ensuring that I could resolve it quickly.

However, I must express my deep disappointment with the behavior of the Regional Manager, Madison. After my membership lapsed 2 times due to 2 layoffs, it went to collections. Matt reached out, and I promptly paid the outstanding amount. When I inquired about paying my membership in full, I was initially told this was against policy. Nevertheless, I went ahead and paid in full at the Sanger location.Since you can go to any gym in the brands locations. I’ve been going for almost 2 months with no issues!

To my surprise, I was notified today that I had been banned from the gym. Even though I’m a fully paid Anytime Fitness Member. When I encountered Madison in town and asked for clarification, she responded in an extremely unprofessional manner, telling me to “get a life” and even flipping me off in public. Now during this I definitely used some bad tones but the disrespect was horrible. When I asked for the owner’s contact information to address the situation further, she refused to provide it.

Such behavior is unacceptable, especially from someone in a leadership position. I hope the ownership takes this feedback seriously, as it reflects poorly on the gym’s management and overall environment.

  2. What an awful experience.

To be fair, I’ll preface this by saying it’s open 24 hours, clean and equipment was in good condition.

The purpose of this to warn people beyond that, about the absolutely disgusting business practices beyond the gym itself so you don’t get into the same mess I did.

My husband made the mistake of signing up a week or two before I did and was billed an additional $20 more per month than I was
why? Because they dropped the prices shortly after he signed up. We asked when I signed up if they would honor the newly reduced price since he had just signed up less than 30 days ago, but they said nope. We were locked into a contract. Okay, fair enough. That should’ve been our first red flag to run, but we paid $60 and $40 for identical memberships for the duration of the entire year.

The problem was when I made the mistake of referring a friend there to get a membership, and he did. They were offering a referral program at the time, and I just so happened to “win” a free month for the referral. Matt called me and a left a message. I returned the call later that day and left a message. I didn’t hear anything after that.

I didn’t get my free month, that month so I thought maybe it would just be applied to the end of my membership. Wrong. Apparently in order to “collect” the free month I had won, I was required to take a photo in the gym
which was never EVER communicated to me. I was apparently just supposed to magically know this.

A month or so later I again inquired about my free month via email to ask if it could be applied to my last month of my contract that was coming up. This was when I was told by Matt that I “forfeited” my free month because I never had my picture taken. This took me by surprise because they told me I won it, but not that a photo was REQUIRED.

Matt also stated within this email that he saw my husband in the gym in passing and had discussed this with him. This was also news to me
especially since my husband’s membership clearly has nothing to do with mine (by their standards even) since we were on separate contracts with separate pricing.

So they collected an additional $20 per month for an entire year from my husband, got another member with a full year contract through me, and then refused to give me a free month of service as they had promised. Great way to do business.

So in a nutshell: the gym itself is ok, but If you like honorable people who are honest and don’t screw others just because they can, this isn’t the place for you. Definitely try Yosemite strength and training instead.

  3. Matt was wonderful with getting us started from out of town. Fitness is important to us when we travel and he helped us make it happen. It was quick and simple. Thank you! When we visit Yosemite again in the future, we’ll definitely be stopping back here.

  4. Clean, convenient and super helpful staff. It has all of the needed equipment and space to get after it, no matter your fitness goals. It is usually not too busy during non-peak hours; it honestly isn’t that bad even when it’s at its busiest. Highly recommended.

  5. The gym only looks out for its self and does not care for the costumer. You have to pay a large first time fee just because? And then pay bi weekly for no reason other then I’m sure it gets them more money. Also if you sign up then you have to keep paying for a year and the only way to get out of paying is by moving 50 miles a way from a gym or get a doctors note. They are very greedy for having such a small gym and only having 1 or 2 employees. Don’t sign up for this gym unless you are loaded and don’t care for these things.
