My mother was brought here by ambulance. We (daughter and husband) were told that neither one of us can go in to check on her or see what was going on. 6 hours later they took her out to the front and left her holding onto a post while we drove around to the front. They basically gave her a shot for pain and probably said more to her but seeing that she is hard of hearing didnāt understand them or didnāt know they asked her questions. When we spoke to security the young man, was being very unprofessional. Just because our last name is not a simple āSmithā does not mean you roll your eyes and have attitude. They had my 80 year old dad stand outside in the heat. They said there are benches outside. You mean the ones in DIRECT SUN? I had my husband bring a chair and water cause they only had soda machines outside. And really no access to a toilet? 6 hours and guess what we are back because she is still in pain with no answers.
AV Hospital you need to do better.
Update
So after 6hours of the doctors saying there is nothing they can do, we ended up back this morning. They were going to send her home again saying thereās nothing wrong. Well you all failed! She had an infection in her intestinal track. Sheās now getting heavy antibiotics and pain meds. Spend another 12 hours there waiting. They are admitting her but of course there are no beds.
Complete failure. Inexcusable
Update
After 12 hours of doing tests taking xrays and a CT, they took her to surgery, for blockage in her intestines.
I will say that when she actually left the ER and got a room the nurses that took care of her were very good.
I think the ER process has to be worked on, I know the security team needs some training. And the doctor that sent us home the first day is lucky she didnāt die. Start listening to these reviews and to your patientās. Your AUTO RESPONCE MEANS NOTHING.
This hospital is the worse when it comes to the accommodation of family members who have gravely ill patients. It is understandable to have rules and regulations on visitation, but to have nowhere to wait is outrageous for a city like Lancaster CA. My mother was hospitalized there and we were made to wait in 110 degree weather. Some of my elder family member fell ill due to the heat, how ironic since itās a hospital.
Dr. Smith in the ER is the best. He took care of my mother when she was brought in by ambulance. He was gracious and attentive, but most of all he reassured that he was doing everything in his power to help my mother.
Dr. Jones in the ICU was also a great person and my family appreciated the time she took with us.
The nurses in the ICU are amazing, they are the real Heros. My mom was there for a total of 15 days and they truly cared and were so helpful in every possible way they could. They treated my mother like a human being.
RN Don was the only person I came across as somone who probably has been doing her job for way to long and has forgotten how to be compassionate and respectful. She blurted out confidential medical decision making in front of my young nephews who still didnāt know the extent of there grandmotherās condition.
I recently had an exceptional experience at Antelope Valley Hospital. Despite the ER being busy, the staff worked efficiently to get me through quickly and accurately diagnosed a very intermittent problem that had gone undiagnosed for well over 10 years.
The Gastrointestinal staff went above and beyond with my care, demonstrating remarkable professionalism and dedication. During my overnight stay, I felt very well taken care of and comforted during a stressful time.
My sincere thanks to the entire team at Antelope Valley Hospital for their outstanding service and care. You truly made a difference in my life.
Brought my daughter here because she had a virus. Had a fever and was throwing up. Iāve been coming here for a long time and this is the first time that they had a bad service. Everythingās unorganized came here at 2:20 left at 10 PM. Itās ridiculous the amount of time to discharge. On top of that the place is so dirty I couldnāt stop coughing and I was so itchy.
Emergency room Dr. Daniel Paine is one of the best doctors in the emergency room department, heās very attentive, caring. He is awesome, the nurses and staff were great as well, their getting better, hopefully they keep it up. Overall my experience was better than it ever was before.
