  1. I am appalled with the lack of professionalism or customer service. I was referred to A+ through my home warranty, Old Republic, for a broken dishwasher.

    Mike’s initial response was great, allowing me to file the claim with the home warranty for a replacement dishwasher. From there, everything went downhill.

    Mike told me he wouldn’t install the dishwasher unless I sent him an extra $150 for electrical work that he claimed the home warranty wouldn’t cover. This is to do electric work with the dishwasher install. He determined this was necessary without removing the old dishwasher or examining the current electrical situation. He wanted me to send him the extra money without providing me an invoice and before he would do the work. I called the Home Warranty company and they said they would approve it as long as he requested it.

    He marked the service complete before it was completed and accepted payment from the home warranty company without installing the new dishwasher or removing the old one.

    When he finally went to the house to install the dishwasher, he said he couldn’t do it because there was quarter round below the dishwasher and he wouldn’t touch it. He told me he knew about this when he first went to the property weeks prior, just didn’t bother to tell me. It would take him another week to get back to the house. When I asked him if a certain day of the week would work with his schedule, he snapped at me and told him he couldn’t provide that information to me and said he would get there when he gets there.

    I removed the quarter round. At this point, the home warranty company sent him a letter stating he had to either complete the job or return the money. He came by and installed the dishwasher and placed the old one on the curb. He is responsible for haulaway but refuses to do it. He said he would only do it if the home warranty company explicitly told him to do so. I told him I would call the home warranty company and they would call him shortly.

    He is refusing to answer calls from the home warranty company now. He told me he doesn’t have time to get to it for several weeks.

    He doesn’t give appointment times, he just shows up when it is convenient for him. He complained about personal problems and how they are affecting his ability to do his job or make appointments. He is extremely unprofessional. If I could rate him less than 1 star, I would. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.

    Tristate appliance has been incredible, if you want a local recommendation. I normally use them for everything. The only reason I went elsewhere was because the home warranty covered it.

  2. If I could give 0 stars I would!! Horrible customer service and unprofessional. Mike does not schedule appointments, he calls the day of to tell you he is coming. American Home Shield sent me to A+ Maintenance and I had a very unpleasant experience. I sent a video of my washing machine not working less than 10 minutes after they left. Mike calls, “what is the washing machine doing?” I sent you a video. He says I don’t do videos or text messages, you’re going to have to tell me what it is doing. I told him, but I mean it is 2024, get with the program of technology so you can serve your customers effectively and efficiently. He comes back out, still didn’t fix it but lied to American Home Shield and said it was fixed! A+ more like F- Maintenance!! I will not ever use this company again!!

  3. I had a terrible experience with A+ Maintenance Services. They are unreliable, unorganized, and completely unprofessional. A simple repair has taken more than two months and they charged the warranty company without completing any of the repairs. Their customer service is absolutely the worst I’ve ever experienced—unresponsive and unhelpful. They should change their name to F Maintenance Services to better reflect their poor quality of service. Avoid them at all costs!

  4. Excellent service, 30+ years experience, and very fast turnaround.

    Mike and his son arrived the same morning that my home warranty placed a claim with him. Fixed my Microwave (needed new turntable motor), Oven (could have ordered new $300 control panel, but able to fix the old one for much less), and refrigerator (water dispenser and ice machine).

    He even knew my 2006 refrigerator model and the insulation issues that cause ice to form in the water line. Again, knew the simple solution of thawing the door rather than telling me it’s broke.

    Great guy, I have no idea why he only has 3 stars, definitely an honest, skilled electrician that I will use in the future.
