1. Manny from maintenance is the absolute best! He always comes quickly to do any work on my apartment, does the job well, and has a wonderful and positive attitude while doing so. I got locked out after hours and had to call him for help and he was there within 20 minutes to let me back into my place. He’s fantastic and deserves every bit of praise!

2. My fiancé and I lived here for over two and a half years and only left because we had to move states for my school. We joked that if we could pick up the building and bring it with us we would. I have never enjoyed living in a building so much. The amenities were top notch, and they throw free community events all the time and even have yoga every couple weeks. But it was the maintenance staff and caretakers who really made this place special. Manny and Pedro and the rest of the maintenance team were always available, kind, and got the job done fast. And the women who keep that place clean are so nice and did such a fantastic job. They worked endlessly and the entire building was always beautiful. The office staff were always great too whenever we needed anything, and were quick to reply to any emails or get information to us. Thank you Garey Building for such a wonderful experience. We’ll miss you.

   The following is not necessarily part of the review for the building but just some things to note if you are considering living here:
   – Once in a while the fire alarms went off in the building. This was because someone would try to sneak a smoke by a smoke detector or would open the door to the hallways when they burnt something. If you move here don’t be that person! The building staff worked pretty hard to get people to stop doing this and it stopped happening by the time we left.
   – Emails went out pretty often reminding people of late fees and building rules. The wording of these emails can make it seem like they’re only being sent to you, which was confusing and a little upsetting at first since I’m a big rule follower, but after asking the office they assured us these were routine emails sent to everyone.
   – The building is amazing, but make sure you are ok with living in the bubble of the Arts District. This location has great access to the freeways, but nice/comfortable areas to walk around the neighborhood were limited.

   Can’t recommend this place enough though. It was truly a luxury experience ❤️

3. Recently moved in and very impressed with the leasing office and maintenance teams! Irwin, Pedro, and Manny have all gone above and beyond. The leasing process and maintenance requests (no matter how small) have been handled so efficiently and professionally! Thank you to them for making the Garey feel like home already

4. When it comes to the Maintenance of this building, I would rate Manny with a five star. Manny from the Maintenance Team is a detail-oriented Porter and follows up on maintenance requests. When they cannot complete for whatever reason (pending parts, additional resources, etc.), Manny does a good job of communicating. He also follows through all calls to its completion. At the end of the service call, he ensures that he shows me the result of the fix and asks if I am happy with the work. Manny is friendly, personable, and has good customer service. The Greystar is lucky to have him. This five star rating is for Manny.

5. From setting up the initial apartment viewings to moving in, the staff at the Garey has been extremely helpful and professional. The leasing staff (Irwin, thanks for all the help!) was honest, attentive to my needs, and quick to respond to any questions I had. The building seems well maintained and clean, brief interactions with other tenants have been positive, and all the security personnel are friendly and helpful. If you’re looking for apartments in the downtown area make sure you check this place out!
