  1. Spent 3 nights. One night nurse and one day nurse were very helpful.Nutrition dept was very good. One day nurse was very nice. I asked for assistance with a shower. No one ever showed up. So, I didn’t bother with that again. Water must be in short supply because I had to continually ask for that.

  2. The nurses and staff were so kind to me and my Mama for the 5 nights we were there. There was never 1 time I didn’t feel welcome or that they didn’t have time to listen to my comments or concerns. Even though I was stressed and not always in the best frame of mind, I could tell they cared about us.

  3. Having been to a fair share of ER’s and hospitals, providence is taking a turn for the better with new management- and so far is the one I trust the most for visits other than the VA.

-Pros: Consistent, Clean, Staffed/Equipped for Dialysis
-Cons: Hard to Navigate, Slow at times, previously religious based

When staying in one of the higher floors of the hospital for a month with my dad, the nurses were the most understanding I’ve met- while explaining throughly to us all throughout the time.

The most recent visit the ER front desk workers were immensely kind while I was scared, except for a blonde nurse who laughed at me through it. Think she was a manager so no suprise lol, be aware of what students you’re doing that too.

I digress, I’d recommend coming here especially if you’re debating about the drive between them all.

  4. First and foremost- Dr. Frame is the BEST doctor! The only reason I chose to give birth at Providence, which was not my first choice, is because I have been with Dr. Frame for 9 years and adore her. She gets 5 stars all around. She wasn’t supposed to be at the hospital when I went in for delivery but she came on her day off and delivered our baby even after I was told that another doctor would be delivering.that being said, the rest of my experience at Providence could have been better.
First, I was in intense labor for 2+ hours in a labor and delivery room before I even got checked in. The nurses all thought I had come in to be induced even though I had told the ER that I was in labor. I finally begged my husband to go get someone because I needed an epidural. I was 6cm when I was finally got in a gown and checked.
Second, once baby was born, I was in a blood covered hospital gown for over 12 hours. I finally asked for a new one and the nurse was shocked that I hadn’t been given one prior.
Third, I was never given a breastfeeding tracker sheet until almost 16 hours after he was born. A nurse got upset with me because I had absolutely no idea that I was supposed to be keeping track of how often and how long my child had been feeding. I’m a new mom
 didn’t have a clue.
Fourth, I was supposed to receive a cream to put “down there” for hemorrhoids but wasn’t given that until my second night there.
Fifth, the morning we were released from the hospital, my son was tested for jaundice and showed high levels. They could have tested him much sooner and done light therapy but because they didn’t, we had to go to our pediatrician two days in a row starting the day after we left the hospital (which was excruciatingly painful for me). There was also the fear that we’d have to come back to the hospital if levels didn’t go down. Thankfully, they did.
Lastly, we waited over 2 hours for someone to bring a wheelchair to take me downstairs so we could leave the hospital.
The ball was dropped on more than one occasion during our stay but I am still so thankful that Dr. Frame delivered our baby! We did have some incredibly sweet and kind nurses tending to our family and I am thankful for them!

  5. Reading through the reviews and looking at the 3.3 star rating is horrible. I understand a great excuse for these complaints. Is the patient or their family where emotional from being sick or what ever the case may be. The staff should be trained in helping these type situations. I can not help myself but to find some truth to the low star rating. I had a run in with a very rude security gaurd. And today I listened in on a horrible conversation between 3 of your staff members today regarding patient treatment amd how they feel about working their jobs. It is horrible how Dark this hospital has become. I was taught years ago that a employee can be a cancer metaphorically speaking and from what I’ve heard you most definitely have a few of them. I was also taught there are two types of employees the ones that work because they want to and the ones that work because they have to. That being said the ones that work because they want to enjoy what they do especially at a hospital. I highly recommend doing some evaluations and cutting the ones that do not deserve the rite to have a job at a place such as a providence hospital.
