I have had zero luck with contacting the office to change any of my information, including through the website. The only communication I get from them is the regularly scheduled robo call inviting me to set up my first visit (I have been seeing the same doctor for some time now). It seems that once it’s first entered, they will not change anything. Once a month for several months now I have tried to request an address change and have my ID card sent to me since I moved. I get a message on the portal saying it’s approved, but nothing changes on my account. I have yet to receive my card. Thankfully most of the offices I’ve seen accept it on my phone because I don’t have the means to print it out. My doctor and clinic are amazing, but I found them when I was still under Anthem Blue, so I give Alliance zero credit for that. Wish I still had Anthem.
Edit: Adding a star because I finally got my card! My address has been updated in my account profile and contact info, so I am now getting my mail.
After the state backdoor privatized MediCal, I was assigned to Blue Cross. When they decided they weren’t making enough money, I was transferred to this poor excuse for a company. I called and waited 20 minutes for someone to pick up. The staff is not helpful. Their records are incorrect. Most importantly, they do not pay any claims! When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was put on terminal hold. I am still on hold after one hour exactly. Despicable. I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy. I will file a complaint to the insurance commission and the governor. This company shouldn’t even be allowed to operate in the state of California!
If I could give it zero stars I would! Always difficult to get through to someone in phone, staff aren’t friendly and overall the place is just not nice.
My Autistic daughter was assigned to Alameda Alliance by Medi-Cal. I called and they want to talk to my non-verbal daughter so she can confirm I’m the guardian. I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time. I called again hoping the first call was mistaken. The second call INSISTED she talk to my daughter. My daughter made her little noises and threw my mobile. Are these people stupid or what? Still no progress of getting some sense out of Alameda Alliance’s warped system.

I couldn’t figure out google chat so instead called Alameda Alliance to speak with a person since their response was “they would help me”. After waiting and waiting to talk to the right person, Alameda Alliance told me my daughter is NO LONGER a member. This confirms my assessment that dealing with Alameda Alliance is futile. I hope this review goes viral so many would know that Alameda Alliance is a big joke! And it’s not even funny.
If you are NOT dying, they will make sure you do. I have been trying to leave Alameda Alliance for YEARS NOW and they will not unenroll me. Having this coverage means EVERY SINGLE HEALTH ISSUE STAYS UNRESOLVED. And simple issues that can be resolved in weeks drag out and exacerbate for a decade.
