The doctor (SS) did not appear to give me individualized care. Was urging me to go on birth control or telling me I would be âat risk for getting cancerâ, and said âwould you at least do the insertâ? I did not feel that my medical history was considered. When I told her multiple times I did not want to go on BC, she said I needed to listen to her because she was âeducated and went to school for thisâ. And when I told her I didnât wish to go on BC because I donât want to mess with my ovulation she stated âOvulation is not important.â I told her I respect her being educated and was educated as well and she proceeded to ask me what I did and my thoughts on a topic in my career. Also, I had to remind her about my medical history because she was telling me I need to be on BC due to my âlong history of irregular periodsâ. That statement is false and she would know if she had consulted my chart- as I have only had 2 periods that were not regular after stopping a supplement I was on (which when I met with her the first time, she was in agreement that that was the likely cause of my cycle being thrown off). I am very displeased and disheartened at the lack of medical care. I fear for those who go in for care and are not listened to unless they prove their education or advocate harder for themselves. To be told TWO times that I was at risk for cancer, is SCARY. I am happy I know my rights and my body. This was NOT individualized care. This felt like she was attempting to put a bandaid on an issue and not listening to me. I will not be returning to this provider, nor do I feel safe suggesting her to anyone else. I saw her the day before my visit to the ER (where she told me to go to the ER if pain worsens/persists and to take Ibuprofen) and after my visit to the ER (where she did not exam me, only read the ER notes).
My new dr at Kaiser took the time to listen to my concerns and was able to get me in to see the specialist in the same week. The kaiser app is easy to navigate and reminders are helpful. I appreciate as a busy mom that you can do labs and refill medications all in same facility.
I was seen on time which is always a positive.
While Dr. Calvillo is not my primary care physician, she was familiar with my medical history. I shared my health concerns with her. She was a good listener and seemed to have a good grasp of what might be going on. Together we developed a plan for treatment.
Dr Chin and his staff Isabel are very kind, helpful and make you feel comfortable. Dr Chin is very knowledgeable and helped me with a knee problem and educated me what the issue was. I would definitely recommend him to friends, family and other members .
I had a great experience with Dr Padron. She is very throughout. I did not feel rushed and she took time to answer all my concerns.
