  1. Best Hyatt I’ve ever stayed at. Very nice and clean. 2 big outside pools, spa, and excellent game room. Stayed on 1st floor overlooking pool and spa area. Everything was so beautiful and kept up. Had a very nice weight room with a scale that we could weigh our luggage for airport to make sure not overweight.

  2. Spent a week in August and in spite of the 117 heat, we had a great time. This was our first visit and after reading a few of the reviews, I was a little concerned. That concern was immediately alleviated at the front desk when I first arrived. Staff, were friendly, personable, and helpful from the front desk, to the concierge, to the security that we happend to bump into. Housekeeping staff also were helpful and friendly. I do not agree with any of the less favorable reviews. We definitely will return!!

  3. All the staff were pleasant, helpful & friendly. The pool was amazing, cool, clean & refreshing. The rooms were spacious & comfortable but the furniture needs updating. Used the kitchen to make daily breakfast & did grill outdoors a couple of times.

  4. Stayed for 1 week at the Hyatt Desert Oasis and the nightly rate was about $150 CAD. It was a great stay because the pool was nice and very well maintained by the cleaning staff, water was cool, lots of fresh towels and chairs, and it was decently quiet.

The rooms are very spacious very much like a one bedroom apartment you might rent on air bnb. The washer and dryer were so nice to have and the kitchen is well stocked. The beds and pillows are comfortable along with all the furniture. Definitely made for a very comfortable stay.

I felt the nightly price was very good for what is offered. A few things that would improve the stay tremendously would be if they upgraded the bathrooms in the units, updated the door locks ( we got locked out about 5 times) and got rid of the intense chemical perfume like smell in the check in lobby and games room.

  5. My husband and I stayed a week on an Interval bonus week. When looking at places to stay in Palm Springs, I chose the Hyatt Desert Oasis based on three things: it had a one bedroom, it was in a great location, and it was rated by Interval as a “premier resort”. The location and pictures looked great, so it was booked.

Having recently stayed at the Hyatt in Escondido CA, the expectation would be that resorts would be similar in accommodations and experience. This resort was neither.

    Our experience:
The grounds of the resort are very well kept. The lobby area nice and updated. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious. It appeared there had been an update on the flooring and furniture. The bed comfortable, the kitchen well appointed (very nice to have 6 dishes and flatware; the towels were in good condition. Our room overlooked the golf course; it was peaceful during the morning when we had our coffee on the lanai. We were thankful we had the golf side and not pool view.

Unfortunately, the room/resort had issues. The room: outdated cabinets (some didn’t close properly) and slammed shut, the cabinet wall had a sticky residue that was left after a sign(?) had been removed, the microwave had a burn spot on the door, the corner plastic molding was missing screws, the door stops were missing, the bathroom wall was marred and had black dots(?), the shower had black mold, the sink faucet had hard water stain residue, a deck chair had a torn seat, some of the plantation shades didn’t close properly, the screen in the living room had holes, the safety bar in the slider was missing a part, which rendered it unusable.

Our building had a smoking area right next to an entry door and smoke drifted to our lanai. The luggage elevator was broken. The first night, there were rude /loud neighbors nearby, who partied on the patio until midnight. The last 2 nights, an obnoxious family stayed below us. The first night there was slamming of doors for 45 mins until after 10:45; the second day/night the slamming continued as well as someone kicking the walls. This was reported twice to the front desk.

We have been Interval customer for many years and have had many great exchange experiences; this was not one. Hopefully Hyatt Vacation Club will step it up and ensure the quality matches the name….the excellence is all in the little things.
