  1. There is a much nicer hotel, at the same price, with great staff DIRECTLY across the street. Do not book at this holiday inn express. The staff is incredibly rude and the building is dirty. We came to check in to have a nice time in San Fran, and instead were hassled over a single day charge because of a cancelled flight. The woman working the front counter has no business calling herself a manager nor working in hospitality and customer service. What a bottom of the barrel experience. Avoid at all costs. They also have a very predatory 75 dollar per day parking price, with no option for self park. They Hyatt across the street is awesome for the price, and has a decent pool and hot tub.

  2. Stayed there 1 Oct 2024 with the family. The hotel itself was very nice, clean and friendly…the only complaint is that if you do not get there by 3pm your chances of parking your car there is very slim and costs $70 daily, regardless if you stay there! The next nearest “safe” place is 2-3 blocks away!

Also, do not expect to find a good fast food franchise nearby unless you walk 3 blocks to the wharf…major downfall when you get hungry and have kids.

  3. Great location & service from the staff. Very clean room & facilities in general . Walking distance to many many great attractions and public transportation (which was easy to pay for, use & navigate). Breakfast was included which was good & basic (it is very busy around 8:30am so be aware). I deducted one star because there is only one elevator working right now (the second one has been down for at least 3 weeks as of this posting). You can use the stairs to go down to the 1st floor (but not up); they lead to a hallway which leads you to the front of the building near valet. This is a more convenient route to get to breakfast some mornings.

  4. Good value hotel in a great location. Clean and spacious rooms with decent bathrooms, plenty of charging points and good lighting. Breakfast extremely busy with waits for seats, juice, pancakes etc – but included in the fee so no complaints! Valet parking expensive but very safe and necessary given car crime in the area. The main point that was lacking was a hotel bar – Brick and Beam is across the road but very expensive. Judging by the number of tourists in the hotel a bar would be highly profitable!

  5. The location of this hotel is fantastic. You can easily walk just about anywhere, or grab an Uber.
The front desk service leaves a bit to be desired. I have stayed here in the past and always enjoyed the staff until this visit. The gal at the front desk was not helpful and not as friendly as what I experienced in the past. One of the elevators was down all 3 days which made it difficult to get to your room. In the mornings, as people were trying to check out, the line for the 1 elevator was somewhat lengthy, and usually full. The water pressure here is about as poor as a hotel could be. Whether you showered in the morning or evening, the water pressure was nonexistent.
