Older hotel but not bad. We had a 1 bedroom suite. Bed was comfortable. Furniture is a little worn but doable. Breakfast was good. Iām a grits man, and I only get them when I go south, and they were good. The staff was great.
Check-in was friendly. The app said they have kings but then they said at check-in that they only had queens. The hotel seems okay on the surface. We are here now. Elevator was warm and third floor hallway is hot. The room smelled when we entered. My husband asked if I could deal with it. We were tired and I said yes. But turn the air down slightly from how they had it blasting and the smell really permeates.
We had already unloaded and started getting comfortable when the condition of the mini fridge was discovered. We needed it for medication that has to be refrigerated and leftovers from dinner. However, once the door was opened- it smelled foul and was set to 1 (warm as possible). There is water all in it. I turned it to max 7 to try to get it cold. That is costing them the money they are trying to save. It is getting colder but is totally rank. No point it putting the food in it. Didnāt bother to complain because we are exhausted after traveling all day. A/C is running loud. Will not return.
We had a few issues with the booking we had, but the staff helped immensely and provided excellent customer service throughout our endeavor. The rooms were clean, the pool was indoor, and the kids loved it. They had plenty of fresh towels available and chairs for those of us that werenāt swimming. The amenities available at this location were nice. Laundry room, gym, pool, bar, back patio to relax onā¦it was nice.
I read the reviews before staying here, but this place was great. The staff was friendly and the cleanliness was adequate for this level of amenities/expectations. Yesā¦.the mattress was something to be desired, but it wasnāt horrible. I would very happily stay here again and recommend this place to anyone. I have no complaints and considering that I travel 6 mos a yearā¦I dont understand the negative reviews. They seem unwarranted. I was more than pleasantly surprised. Iām very VERY happy that I chose this location. 5 stars all day. BTW, the place is quiet and has plenty of parking. Itās tucked away and feels very safe.
I hesitated at first because some of the reviews were bad. After staying at this place I must say I enjoyed the clean room and the small bar/restaurant was very convenient and had great service. Overall it was a pleasant stay and I would stay here again if Iām in the Birmingham area. It is located off the road in the corner, but itās nice and quiet with plenty of shopping and food options within a five minute drive.
