Customer service was excellent, but the rooms are quite outdated. When visiting Silicon Valley, one would expect modern amenities, yet this hotel still uses rotary AC controls and lacks basic tech features like Chromecast on the TV. Despite being told we had received two upgrades, this claim felt more like a joke than a genuine improvement.
Location-wise, the area is rather uneventful unless you have a car. While we appreciated not receiving turn-down service the first night due to our âDo Not Disturbâ sign, it was confusing and inconsistent not to receive it on the second night when we didnât have the sign up. We didnât necessarily need turn-down service, but consistency would have been appreciated.
One nice touch was the availability of coffee and small pastries conveniently located right at the bottom of the elevator. Although itâs only available for two hours, from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., it felt like the kind of amenity one would expect from a hotel of this stature.
However, one of the most disappointing aspects was the fact that the hotel charges $9 for a single bottle of water in the room. For a hotel of this caliber, it feels excessive and exploitative, reflecting the worst aspects of capitalismâsqueezing every penny from your guests. Weâve stayed at a basic Hyatt in Mountain View that was far more modern and comfortable than this Four Seasons. Unfortunately, this was our first, and likely our last, stay at a Four Seasons. We understand that experiences vary across chains, but for a location that charges up to $6,000 per night, itâs baffling that they havenât invested in upgrading the property.
Lastly, while we didnât use the pool, we noticed that reserving a comfortable seat costs $250âanother distasteful policy that leaves a bad impression.
However, I must commend the hotel and restaurant staff, who were all fabulous and provided outstanding service. This is by far the highlight of this hotel. If the location is fitting for business or visiting purposes it will suffice. it is in no way a bad experience. It just isnât what I expected.
Best part about our stay was the people and service. 5 stars all around. Rooms were very nice as well. My wife and i were celebrating our anniversary and they added an extra special touch. Great recommendations for dinner in Palo Alto and day hiking in the Santa Cruz Mountains
Four Seasons chain hotel exemplifies well curated service along with a focus on wellness and relaxation facilities. The hotel at East Palo Alto though seemingly dated makes up for this with additional equipments and amenities. During graduation season in June 2024 we were given plenty of assistance and attention to our needs before, during and after the event via written notices, packets, etc. The exemplary service was mainly with the front office esp Caitlin of the front desk who also helped us with our luggage transport requirements after our stay. Housekeeping was spotty as we encountered staff who were not yet familiar with the protocols. The rooms were very spacious with the added benefit of a personal workout station. As for the location, it is not easily accessible to other areas but adds a bit of privacy and welcomed feeling of remoteness. Arguably one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences within the greater palo Alto area but then again it does have to live up to its category and the standards of the Four Seasons brand.
For the price I do not recommend the four seasons. We stayed here twice before and the standards were soooo high and everything was near perfect. Two years later we chose this hotel for my surgery recoveryâŠfairly confident that it would be the same experience. The first room we were put in was beaten down and worn. The lamps were splitting + cracked, one lamp had scuff marks on it, the carpet was frayed in multiple locations, bathroom vanity was torn up, entertainment center damaged + TV crooked. We showed the front desk pictures and have now been moved into a bigger room but now we are facing the 6 lane highwayâŠthis room is slightly better but also extremely worn. For over $800 per night this is ridiculous. We wonât stay here again.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL if you donât want to get charged for something you didnât buy.
During my stay, I did not take anything from the mini-bar, but when I was reviewing my invoice afterwards, I noticed I was charged $45 for it. When I called, it seemed that the only thing they know how to do is redirecting me front and back. They also promised that the manager would call me back, and guess what? No callback whatsoever.
Hard to believe this is the kind of service at a Four Seasons Hotel. Extremely disappointed.
