If you haven’t been to Half Shell, do yourself a favor and get out there soon! The food is absolutely amazing. It is well seasoned, fresh, and leaving you wanting for more. The portion sizes are decent and you’re sure to have some takeaways for later.
Our hostess, Kinsey, was nothing short of incredible. She made sure we had everything we needed at the table, and had super nice teeth! I would definitely go back to eat there again.
We are visiting from out of town & some locals recommended this restaurant. Glad they did. Our server brought us out a sample of the Cajun sauce to make sure it wasn’t too spicy for the non spice lover in our group. We had the bisque (not pictured), oyster sampler, crab claws, royal red shrimp, & voodoo shrimp po boy, & a sweet potato side. We enjoyed everything we had!
Then best part was the waiter. He was very sweet and attentive but you could tell he was new. The food took too long from the salad to the main course. My Caesar salad was not crisp, very soggy. My fish had a piece of hair in it. The waiter got the manager to come the table and he was kind of unprofessional but apologetic. The food gets worse and worse the more I come. Mashed potatoes were old as well.
The food was excellent, but the service was lacking. It felt like since we didn’t order cocktails (sweet tea and water), we were not important. Our sweet tea took 20 mins to get to the table. Mind you, it was 6 pm and not super busy. I was not given a utensil for my cocktail sauce, and our server only came back to give us the bill. So, I struggled to put cocktail sauce on my oysters the entire meal (all twelve raw oysters). The oysters were great, and the rest of my party enjoyed the steak. However, we all agreed that the service wasn’t what we expected for the price tag.
The stuff Portobello‘s were phenomenal. My wife had the ceviche(lobster and scallops). The atmosphere was great for a couple or a group. Great menu of food and drinks! We will be coming back.
