I would NOT recommend this place, especially for families with children. After passing the Exxon with about 20 people just standing around outside talking, we got to the hotel. Walked in; no one at the desk. My husband started looking around and then came back to the desk. The attendant appeared from behind a half wall next to the desk. She had been visible, but just barely. It looked as if she was hiding while engrossed in her phone. She asked my husband, “Do you need something?” to which he replied, “Yes, I’d LIKE to check in.” She acted like we had destroyed her evening. We asked how late the pool was open (we’re used to 10/11pm). A quick swim sounded great after 6 hours on the road. “9 o’clock”. It was 8:45….😑 The exercise room appeared to stay open much later. The room was adequate. The fridge was not cold, but not a deal breaker. I would NOT recommend this place, especially for families with children. From our window we got to witness an older teen on a bike casing out the vehicles in the parking lot and swipe a gas can (the only thing not anchored down) from a work vehicle, so that was cool. 🙄 The bed was really comfortable and the shower head was fabulous! The breakfast was typical: toast, bagels, make-your-own pancakes, cold cereals, biscuits and gravy, sausage links (the casing was INCREDIBLY tough), scrambled eggs, veggie omelettes.
We enjoyed our stay here. It’s a highway hotel, but the customer service was awesome. Siri and Maya took great care of us at the front desk. I’d like to especially highlight Kiara, who oversaw our breakfast. She was courteous, friendly, and ran a tight and clean operation. We will use this Holiday Inn Express again!
We always like to stay at the Hoilday Inns. However, this is the first negative experience we had. Jennifier, the check in clerk on July 13, 2024 was very rude and unprofessional. Her demeanor was inexcusable. Breakfast was great and Katy Lee, was simply the best in service and attitude. We continued to Cabot, AK and the Staff was a joy to meet. Hope things work out for Jennifer.
*I HOPE YOU CARRY*The advertisement of this hotel does not state the rundown homes and abandoned building next to it. Upon arrival there are many people sitting on the corner and parking lot and the abandoned building beside it seems to be a trap house or crack house. Within the first 20 minutes of our stay we noticed a car getting broke into through the window and made the final decision that this is not the place we wanted to stay. The service wasn’t bad lady up front was nice.
Take care with the people is surrounding the area, they will ask you help and something’s like this but there is an abandoned hotels next to the hotel and are living no so good people. They are many and they arrive to your car when you are stopping. Hotel all good, friendly personal and rooms ok.
