Located in a safe downtown area, about a 15 minute walk to Fisherman’s Wharf. Super chill, relaxed atmosphere. Superb customer service. Fantastic selection. I love how they’ve personalized it for Monterey! Super fun and a great spot to pick up snacks or stuff for a beach picnic with the fam!
The Trader Joe’s in Monterey is my favorite i’ve been to this far! The people here are so kind and helpful. Our cashier Adam literally gave us the shirt off his back because we mentioned how cool it was; so damn kind! Blown away by the hospitality at this sweet grocery store.
This is my happy place. Anytime I have a bag day, I just go get some treats from Trader Joe’s. The employees are literally always friendly and happy to help and the food is delicious.
Recently visited with a broken foot. They had motorized carts outside the entrance that made my shopping experience very easy. Pay counters are accessible and store in general has an easy layout to navigate using the electric chairs. As always trader joes has all the snacks and groceries your heart desires. And such a beautiful array of flowers. 10/10 would recommend.
In 2020, during the great toilet paper crisis. I was standing outside Trader Joe’s waiting to get in, clutching my cart like it was a lifeboat. A crew member with the kind of smile that made you forget you were basically in line for bread and toilet paper, handed me a single flower.
Flash forward to a park nearby where I spot the same crew member and say, “Hey, thanks again for the flower!” She looks at me, confused, and says, “Oh, that? I don’t remember. They just tell us to do random nice stuff like that”.
Update: I have recently visited IKEA of San Francisco which is about 90% self checkout lanes and it made me appreciate TJ’s much more since they’re never going to make you do all the work (self-checkout), they’d rather help you and sell you their delicious $0.99 Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups.
