Great seafood restaurant in a restored train depot. First come first served area by the bar. Tile fish, crabmeat stuffed trout, and red snapper were outstanding. Ginger ale was tasty and martini was great too. Oysters very tiny. Dessert…fabulous. Tiny oysters were the only ding in an otherwise spectacular dining experience.
Very good place and a place to try if you are in Auburn. Probably best restaurant in town. You can tell it was going to be good when you see management hands on at all times. Food was good and the service superb. I asked to see if I can combine 2 dishes and there were very accommodating. That does not happened now days. Reservations are highly recommended.

The Depot restaurant in Auburn, AL is one of my favorite restuarants in Auburn, AL. The Depot is a modern grilled gulf-coastal brasserie in Auburn’s Historic Train Depot. With a globally inspired menu by Executive Chef & Co-Owner, Scott Simpson, The Depot is elevating the cuisine in Auburn. The Depot is the first restaurant in the State of Alabama to receive the prestigious James Beard Smart Catch Leader Award for their commitment to serve sustainable and responsibly harvested seafood. Six year winner of the Wine Spectator Excellence award, The Depot features an internationally recognized wine program featuring award-winning varieties from around the globe. The food echoes from the past also honoring Alabama’s southern heritage and is cooked simply and spectacularly. Simple and spectacular, these are the principles of the Depot. I have always had a wonderful experience at this restaurant.
200% avoid. This was the worst meal I have paid for. Extremely small portions and my fish tacos were supper fishy. Snapper should not taste like kingfish. To top it off, there is only one waitress; for a place that caters to upscale, this place has trash food and trash service. I have zero idea how they remain open and get the rating they have.
