  1. I have mixed emotions about this review.
I travel quite frequently and contacted the desk to find out if they had a reward program in which they did. However, I found out that the 2 locations that they have do not share rewards. You can only use the reward program individually at each location. I kinda felt like that defeats the purpose of traveling and rewards programs. I have a lot of respect because it is a third generation family owned business. However, I think the reward program needs to be revamped. They do not have elevators, and parking is $18 a night. Overall, I enjoy my stay. The staff were very professional and courteous. Would I stay here again? Yes, I felt quite safe.I just would like for them to revamp the Reward program.

  2. We actually really love this place! The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. However, there is one issue that prevented me from giving this place 5 stars, and it has to do with the pool. It’s an awesome pool and we love the poolside bar and restaurant, however there is no lifeguard or staff around and this is a MAJOR problem. There were consistently 30-50 kids in the pool and we had problems with rambunctious teenagers every day. Parents were either drunk or not paying attention and my 7-year old got hit in the head and jumped on, elbowed and wacked with various balls several times. Kids were being thrown and tossed around by older kids, diving, somersaults and generally unsafe pool behaviour despite the signs indicating not to. Because of this we had to be on guard and watching the kids all the time which made it much less relaxing. This kind of behaviour would never fly at ANY public pool and it feels like just a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt (and a lawsuit ensues). We tried saying something several times to the older kids and parents but that just resulted in our 11-year old being bullied and targeted by the older teenagers so we left. Honestly this place is great but we won’t stay again until they have someone supervising the pool. Wouldn’t recommend if you have young kids, otherwise a great place to stay.

  3. I don’t agree with the negative reviews about this place. My friend and I checked in in the middle of the night after a nightmare situation with our other accommodation and the staff were welcoming and comforting even in the middle of the night. We slept great and then enjoyed our time at the pool and in the room. The bathrooms are nice and clean and the room is quiet and comfortable. Yes, this place is older and not a luxury hotel, but is safe and clean and worth your money 100%. The restaurant is reasonably priced which is refreshing and location is obviously fantastic as well. If you’re looking for a nice but humble place to stay the handlery is a go to.

  4. Front desk staff is really great, as are the bartenders. The hotel itself is pretty dated; my room didn’t have working a/c and the bathroom and floors were a bit dirty. Pool is fantastic and the food and drinks were fairly priced and tasty.

  5. Well kept hotel with really kind staff and decent hotel rooms. The AC in the rooms works fine but the bathrooms left something to be desired with their weak shower flow and extremely dated TV. Pool was fantastic and the grounds were well kept. Location isn’t great if you’re looking to walk to any kind of food. There also wasn’t a great way to get drinking water since the tap water wasn’t suited for drinking.
