  1. Disgusting room with hairs on the shower wall, the bathroom smells like sewage. I asked for another room and they said they were fully booked. I then asked for a refund and the guy who we will call AK said he couldn’t do anything because the manager Elizabeth Ming was not available. I had no choice but to stay in this unpleasant disgusting room. I requested for them to cancel my second day as well but they said they couldn’t cancel it because the manager was not available until Monday. Unbelievable!!! I got charged for both days!!! I will filing a dispute with my credit card company and filing a complaint with health department. Don’t waste your money, not worth the headache. You definitely won’t get your rest here.

  2. I recently stayed at this hotel on 6/23/24. On entering the lobby there was a strong foul odor. Very unpleasant if I could have left with a refund I would have been right there.

The room was standard and appeared clean. Further inspection found stains on the curtains, bed box, and bed frame. The floor was almost sticky. And weird stains on the walls near the nightstands. The AC unit seemed to have gotten some type of repair and had a box hanging from the unit. It still worked but would not turn on or off automatically.

Beds were poorly done found food crumbs on the floor and the desk in the room. The restroom appeared clean and functional. Of course not the best water pressure. The room I was in was not handicap accessible for the shower did not have any railings. It could be that different rooms do.

As a big hotel chain and with the pricing of rooms Holiday Inn can do better at the cleanliness of their lobby and rooms. In the future, I will stay away from any Holiday Inn.

    (Parking is $24 a night.)

  3. When we initially went in to the room, it smelled very unpleasant. The breakfast was bad, the sausage had rubber texture, and the potatoes tasted drier than the Sahara Desert. Additionally, the hotel cleaner took our own white towels hanging in the closet. On the bright side, the WiFi is good and the location is very nice and not too close to the freeway. Overall it’s 3 star, but please be careful when bringing a white towel the cleaner didn’t notice the difference between hotel and your own towel.

  4. The hotel rooms are large, beautiful and clean to a fault. We had some issues with the type of room we reserved via Expedia and what they claimed was reserved. I called and spoke to a manager a week before our arrival and we were promised a room with a walk-in shower as this was crucial for my traveling mate who was in her eighties and can’t climb over a bathtub. We got to the hotel early and were told we had to wait for the room which was fine. After an hour, they finally brought us to a room where a painter was just leaving the room and advised us that he had just painted the area around the bathroom door. After some hesitation we decided to initially stay in the room because it was supposed to be the room we had been promised. When I went to the bathroom to check it turns out that while it had bars for accessibility it did have a bathtub. I called0 the front desk told them my problem and they basically didn’t seem to care. I then asked to speak to a supervisor who was much more helpful and ultimately we switch rooms to a room with a walk-in shower. The hotel is located on the street called Hotel circle, aptly named, because there’s basically nothing else but hotels. So if you like to be in a hotel that centrally located this is not your hotel. However, it is a short Uber ride to any destination in San Diego. The hotel breakfast is quite good. It includes an egg option which changes daily, breakfast potatoes, breakfast meat option which changes daily, a variety of breads pastries fruit cereal juices coffees and teas. Hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and milk. It also includes an automated pancake maker, which makes really tasty pancakes.

  5. Staff couldn’t be nicer and welcoming but I will not be staying here again. The beds are so hard, my husband slept on the couch and it was more comfortable. The bathroom door kept closing on us and the shower handle fell off when we went to take a shower but it had a foot shelf for us girls to shave our legs which I appreciated. Toilet paper is extra thin as well as the Kleenex, the towels feel like cardboard but love the Dove products in the bathroom. My son and husband did partake in the breakfast and the only good thing was the pancakes, nothing else! Parking lot is so small so watch out for door dings. It’s convenient right off the freeway so that was nice. The lobby looks beautiful but when we got to our room it was not and one of the tvs stopped working too. I will find another hotel when we visit San Diego next time but not this one.
