We just had a family getaway. We stayed in #7 Southern Manor. Great place, clean, and roomy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Only suggestion I would make is, clarify to all guests that we have private docks. Several times, we had kids fishing on our designated dock. We couldn’t enjoy our privacy. It is stated on the dock, “private dock #7 only” but, kids don’t always pay attention. I blame the parents. Maybe you guys could add a sign or just stress to guests when they check in. Besides that, it was an amazing trip! Thanks to the staff and owners, for a great trip.
We rented houses 16 and 17 for a family reunion and so far we’ve had a great time! The amenities and location are wonderful; however, the houses could use a thorough, deep cleaning. There are cobwebs on the inside windows and porch railings, layers of dust on some of the unused furniture pieces, and the bathrooms and floors need attention. The living room light on the third floor of house 16 needs new lights bulbs as only one is working. The kitchens in both houses are lacking in cooking supplies. There are very minimal utensils, pots, pans, etc for basic cooking and what was there needed to be washed beforehand. Overall, we have had a pleasant stay and would stay here again, but would like to see the cleanliness of the houses improve.
We stayed at Chestnut Bay Resort for a family reunion in house 58. It was an absolute blast. The house was very spacious and clean, there were many pools to swim at, the activity center and tie-dyeing shirts was a big hit for my kids, and the ice cream was delicious! I would highly recommend staying here.
We stayed in the new area this time (800s). Again, my kids ages 7 – 17 had a blast! We loved being so close to the new pool, but they love all the activites, so next time we think we need to request closer up so they can ride their bikes a little easier. I would suggest bringing a cart or renting because the property is large and there is so much to do. If you have a full week, use it here and you still might not make all the activties, Lake/beach, pools, water park, putt-putt, etc. My kids were sad to have to leave as they missed multiple activities while we were out saying goodbye to their Great Grandmother who passed away. We were able to include good memories for them by being here. We hope to be back soon where we make the water wagon ride, foam party, and and a few other events! Thanks for another great time. We left without getting a magnet this time because we were distracted by ice-cream, so I know we will have to at least stop by and get one.
We stayed in house #60 at Chesnut Bay Resort and had a wonderful time. The house was very (very, very) clean, up-to-date, and comfortable. The house is close to the mushroom pool and overlooks the lake.
Chesnut Bay Resort has soooo many fun activities to keep the kiddos busy all day long that there is never a dull moment. We rented a golf cart which made navigating the resort easy and fun. The waterpark is great and conveniently located in the resort. Finally, there is an on-site boat/jet ski rental which we highly recommend.
