  1. We really enjoyed our stay. The room was great and the beds were comfortable. There was a door separating our room from the living room area but the bathroom was in our side. We wished it was on the living room side because the kids didnā€™t want to use the bathroom at night because it was in our room. We loved the breakfast especially the omelet bar. The breakfast was one of the main reasons we chose the hotel. We didnā€™t really have time to use the pool and gym, etc. The breakfast staff were really friendly. We didnā€™t care for the bartender for the free evening reception because we went down there and sat at the bar and the bartender said are you here for free happy hour? ā€œI donā€™t do bar service for free.ā€ The way she said it was rude. We didnā€™t know where to go and we didnā€™t see a sign that said where to go. Parking was expensive especially for 5 days. The location was nice and in a nice area. The shuttle was nice to be able to take to my daughterā€™s swim meet!

  2. Excellent location! Great for kids. They could keep coffee and tea available in the lobby after breakfast hrs. They close on the clock and run out of snacks and other stuff quickly. Furniture needs definitely an upgrade. Sofa bed broke my back. Couldnā€™t even sit in it. Dresser and other furniture looks old and not in a great condition. They are not filling all the adequate bath gels, body lotions etc. for the price one expects better condition and service.

  3. Great stay!! I stayed here for the weekend for a wedding and by far one of the best hotels Iā€™ve stayed at. I stayed with my family and the front desk was so very nice. Every time we needed something they would bring it up quickly and they were so respectful. The parking was easy and the electric chargers were perfect as well. I highly recommend staying here, especially with all the fun things to do in the area

  4. Our family (us, daughter/sil/grands) used this location due to its centrality for the venues located in the greater San Diego area (Zoo, Safari Park, Legoland, Mission Beach). Everything was within 10-30 minutes from us. The rooms were everything you have come to expect from an Embassy Suites establishment. Everything appeared well-maintained, but also used & not always kept in immaculate conditions. Several of the chairs were stained and the carpeting looked well worn. The staff were beyond friendly and very helpful if we had questions or concerns. The breakfasts were awesome as always! A person would be hard pressed to not be able to find food that they enjoyed eating. The Managerā€™s Reception was lackluster in comparison, but this has been the case for many years. The best part for this location was the kid-friendly/dog-friendly nature of this locale. The koi pond feature and the encouragement by the staff to allow kids to feed them from 9 to 10am truly made the day with my grands. If we find ourselves back in La Jolla, we would cheerfully stay here again.

  5. Letā€™s see. We had a room with a king-size and queen bed. Guess what queen bed is a foldout. Technically, this is a room with a king-size bed. Talk about a rip off. Bathroom, black skid marks across the floor. Reminds me of a parking garage.

The nightly rate for your room does not include car parking. Itā€™s 40$ a night. Parking, lets say is hard. You will be hard pressed to get out of your car. Suck that belly in šŸ™‚

Beyond that, itā€™s a pretty standard hotel.
I used to stay in these around 2010. Same design, no change. So I am surprised with those four or five star reviews. Embassy Hill suites has gone downhill.
