  1. I find the reviews saying that the staff here is helpful very puzzling. In my experience itā€™s always hit or miss, usually a miss. You are barely greeted (if at all) and the sales associates are either on their phones or talking to each other the whole time. This isnā€™t every time, occasionally youā€™ll have a helpful associate, but thatā€™s not what this review is about.

I made a purchase and due to travel delays and living on the other side of the bay I wasnā€™t going to be able to return before the 14 day return window closed. I sent an email asking if it would be okay to come in the next day. I didnā€™t get a response, so I called the number listed on their website to ask someone if this was a reasonable request they could accommodate. No one answered. The phone just rang and rang with no option for a voicemail.

Over the next few days I tried the same thing, phone and email, both stayed unanswered. Finally, I decided to email the flagship store and as soon as that email was sent I started getting replies back to mine. I received a generic ā€œsorry for the inconvenienceā€ and was told I actually had 4 days left in my return window because my purchase was made on 6/14. That was incorrect, my receipt very clearly says 6/10, putting the 14 day window on 6/24, which is when I initially emailed/called. I was also given a phone number ā€œto text if I have issues getting in touch with the store over phone or emailā€. Iā€™m not sure why it was an issue getting in touch with them via either in the first place. Why even list a phone number? I also have email tracking so I could see that my initial emails were being read and left on read for days. I received an additional follow up email saying that itā€™s my last day to return for store credit (again, wrong, I donā€™t know whoā€™s receipt they found and looked up, but it wasnā€™t mine) and at the beginning I was fine with store credit. However, at this point I donā€™t anticipate visiting this particular boutique again when there are so many others literally down the street and popping up all over this area where I can have a better experience and purchase the same items. I said I appreciated the follow up and that I hope it would be understood why I would like a refund instead of a store credit at this juncture. Given the less than stellar customer experience I had this week and the hurdles I went through to JUST get in touch with someone, my request didnā€™t seem out of line. Unsurprisingly though, it was denied and I was offered 20% off my next purchase. An offer I will respectfully decline and instead of making a 2 hour round trip for a store credit and poor customer service again in the future, I will instead opt to donate the clothes I purchased.

I recognize my boycott of the store is just a drop in the bucket, but the absolute lack of sensibility, awareness, and ownership has been pretty shocking.

  2. One of my all time favorite boutique in Mobile, AL. High quality items with not so many quantity of each items. This is my go to place when Iā€™m looking for everyday to special occasion fits. Canā€™t recommend this place enough.

  3. Hemline is one of my favorite stores. The employees are always very sweet and helpful. They never mind when Iā€™ve come in with one of my little ones, and always make me feel welcome. The owner is the same way. She always tries to make her customers feel special.
