My baby boy was so gassy and I couldn’t figure out why. Kim helped me by giving me exercises to do with him to help deepen his latch and use his tongue more because he was getting air from a shallow latch. She was so gentle and good with my baby. She helped me educate myself on breastfeeding because of her i have been able to continue breastfeeding my baby. She helped put my mind at ease about how much milk my baby was getting. I am a first time mom so having someone like her truly helped me boost my knowledge and confidence being a mom!
Kim was recommended to me through a facebook group and I’m so glad she was! She’s very easy to talk to, kind, informative, up to date on new literature regarding breastfeeding, and has a wide range of knowledge. She also has recommendations for other providers if needed (ex. My baby needed a pediatric dentist and i love the one she recommended). I loved working with her, my baby and i are still exclusively breastfeeding and thats thanks to Kim!
My heart is so full. When I found out 2 weeks postpartum that I wasn’t producing enough milk for our baby to gain weight, I was devastated. This had also happened with our first baby, and I was never able to breastfeed her. This time I was determined to find the right help and not give up. I had 3-4 consultations with online lactation consultants but was receiving conflicting information, and nothing really seemed to help. I was overwhelmed, tired and on the verge of giving up. In a last-ditch effort, I did a google search of lactation specialists in our area. I found two. Kim seemed pretty great, so I called her. She called back within 10 minutes and booked me for the next day. Wow.
Our interactions with her were ALL like that. She has made such a difference. Kim is professional, prompt and responsive. And at the same time, in person she is calm, relaxed and never in a rush. She has been such a strong and reassuring presence in our family during what is (at least for me) a very exhausting and emotional time.
With one simple tweak from her toolkit during our initial consultation, I already was producing more milk. And within hours of that first visit, Kim provided a list of supplements and resources I could try. I ordered them immediately, and that first week my milk production doubled.
She followed up every few days for the first several weeks, made herself available for questions. She was always prompt to reply. She truly was the support I needed.
We are six weeks into this journey with Kim, and our son is now latching as often as he can. I may never have the supply I wish I did. But I am able to experience breastfeeding our son in a way I never could with our first baby. I am so grateful to Kim for her patience, expertise and steady presence making this all seem possible.
And as an aside, there is something so special about having an expert in her field, here in our home, sharing her wisdom and being a tremendous resource to us. It feels a bit old-fashioned. And it is so SO great!
As a second aside, Kim is great with babies, and even our toddler warmed to her from the first minute (she usually has a 30 minute adjustment period with new people).
If you are struggling in any way or just are looking for solid advice or support, CALL KIM. Best decision we’ve made so far. Recommend her 100,000%.
This review is way over due! If you are looking for a lactation consultant look no further, and MAKE THE APPOINTMENT!! Kim is truly a blessing! If I could give more than a 5 star review I would.
I don’t even know where to begin. Kim is so knowledgeable. Friendly and just overall makes you feel like you have known her forever and super comfortable. My son was born with a double tongue tie. The hospital nor my son’s pediatrician caught it, but she DID. Having the tongue tie made it impossible to breast feed. But she was able to give me so many tips and pointers on how I should breast feed & tips on latching. Which bottles to use… helping me with my breast pump, and so much more. She always took her time with me. Feeling overwhelmed with a little one she was always a breath of fresh air! I would recommend her over & over again! Thank you again Kim!
Kim is a wealth of knowledge. I have seen multiple people for breastfeeding and pumping help over the last few years. With my most recent baby I knew I needed additional help. The education and support Kim provided went above and beyond anything I expected. She helped me be more confident, managed an oversupply issues, worked with me on oral exercises for my son, and was a game changer with correct sizing for flanges. She was easy to work with and genuinely cared about me. If I could start again I would see no one else and would have booked an appointment before delivering my first baby to help set me up for success. If you have not worked with an IBCLC before do it. Kim is well worth it!
